What's up with Damien Williams today?

Recommended Posts

This is so strange. Only 2 touches?? What's up with that? I get he wasn't great last week but no one was on that team.

This week:

1 rush 6 yards

1 catch on 1 target for 14 yards and a TD

So no info from you? So you don't know either. Gotcha. Just say that.

And as far as Henry, sometimes a long planned vacation and a human relationship with the one you love comes before fantasy football. Even if it is a big money league. Maybe someday you will find one for yourself even.

Seems like the sort of day one might expect from a passing team's RB2, no?  What were you expecting?

Let me put it this way. If Vegas had a bet out there for Damien Williams number of touches in yesterday's game set at 2.5. Would you have taken the under or the over? I would have taken the over and felt good about it. :dunno:

Yeah, probably.  Had it been set at 5, however...

The point being that 9 fantasy points is about what I would expect from a passing team's backup RB.

I have not seen the snap counts yet but the other D Williams has two of the longest plays (run and pass) for any KC rob this year

Past 2  games since Damien back, small sample size but still, here are passes v called running plays (so excluding Mahomes scrambles)

V Houston

35 passes/10 called running plays (so excluding Mahomes scrambles), Mccoy most w/8 carries

Pass target share: Daryl 2, Mccoy 2, Damien 1

V Indy

39 passes/13 called running plays (so excluding Mahomes scrambles), Damien most w/9 carries

Pass target share: Damien 4, Mccoy 2, Daryl 0

Despite Reid's history looks like (1) Chiefs just  not running the ball, relying on (mistakenly IMO) on Mahomes arm (2) full blown RBBC anyway

Was he the backup vs. Indi?

He's pretty much been the backup ever since they signed McCoy.

So they used the backup more against Indi? How many touches did the #1 guy get?

Two, until he fumbled the ball away halfway through the 2nd quarter--none after that.

Chris Carson had fumbles but he stayed the #1. Interesting.

As did McCoy, but both of them yielded some touches to their backups in the games where those fumbles occurred.

So it was a planned vacation for one then, I can’t belive you love anyone’s else but yourself.

Hey thanks for the reply, always appreciate it.

Well, I'm not confident from week to week whether it will be McCoy or either of the Williams that will get more touches.

That makes no sense. Like I said, always glad to be on the opposite side of what you are on in life.

Reid ran McCoy into the line on a 2nd and 14 deep in their own territory with 5 minutes left down a TD. Can anyone explain the logic in that?

Aren’t there always a few games mid-season where Andy Reid makes inexplicable play calling decisions  before coming to his senses?  I feel like it has happened numerous times in the past.

Yeah, he has shown that to be one of his quirks in coaching from time to time. Not sure what the intended result is supposed to be. But I guess this past week it was a loss?

I think Reid only giving Williams 2 touches last week was because he wants him fresh for tonight. Short week.

Damn stupid move if that’s truly the reason why Reid would do that, they lost the game, just to be healthy for this one.

So now Reid is coaching his football team for ff owners, is this what you think?

No silly little hand solo, no.

I'm gonna have to cut bait on this dude, I was almost tempted to start him tonight. I no longer want to have to deal with the option.

the dude is awful. i thought the main concern was his health with full workload but its obvious the real problem is his skill set.

Not prepared to say that....I got to watch him in those games last season, and he was legit. Fast, fluid, elusive, and ran with power when he needed to. Not sure what has happened to KC's running game, but it is putrid....no matter who gets thrown out there. I wouldn't start any of them at this point.

That being said, I am prepared to admit that I was dead wrong about DWill in FF this season. Barring a miracle, he is a bust....and I am dropping him for a warm body. Six more regular season games (bye week 12), with defenses selling out to stop the run (assuming Mahomie misses time), and there is simply no way I could trust him as even a flex at this point. Dead wrong.

Even though he sucked, Williams got 9 more touches than last week. Looks like you are wrong again weepy.
