Actually we do know there was a spike in deaths, due to Covid, something that doesn’t happen like that from flu, and does not correlate at all with vaccine doses.

Their overall vaccination rate was good, but their elderly vaccination rate was not.  They were one of the only countries where vax rates were actually higher among the younger population.  That (in addition to lockdowns which also kept natural infections low) is why they were one of the only countries to get hit extremely hard by Omicron:
