It will take time but we will repair the divide in this country by undervaluing innocent lives of elderly, children, any white or, black police officer killed by a black person and overvaluing the life of a black person killed by a white police officer for any reason. Right or wrong.

And maybe they would also realize that carrying a gun in any big city will get you a slap on the wrist. Unless you already used it to kill someone or shoot them. You really need to get rid of them after you do that. Otherwise, just go get booked. You’ll be home for dinner.

Over the course of a career, can the cops who had dialed it down for Koch and Dinkins, then turned it up for Giuliani and Bloomberg and dial back down for DiBlasio recover and become useful again?

In other words, presumably, the guys who become cops imagine themselves putting criminals behind bars and making their communities safer. That's why you get into this line of work. Then they work for DiBlasio who is on the side of the looters and rioters, dislikes his cops, and he just has his them going through the motions. So you get sloppy and jaded and don't give a sh*t (see any post by you in the DiBlasio era). But then the people get fed up, toss DiBlasio out on his ass, and the next mayor/prosecutor comes in pledging to clean up the streets, the cops now have to pick up their game. It'd a bit of a cultural whiplash for the police force, how well and how adaptable does that situation go over for them?
