I know the media has a huge hardon hoping someone else is the GOP nominee because they want someone who cowers and apologizes when the media attacks. But like i say, If Trump runs, and you get to the primaries and news stories break about this or that, T will be front and center telling it like it is Charles Barkley style while the other candidates will hum and haw and scurry away and T will run away with the nomination again.

Ron DeSantis has not cowered from anything and doesn't have the baggage that Trump does.      Look at the attacks on him and his admin this summer over the coronvirus stuff, did he duck and cover from that?      I would also say Hawley, Cotton, or Rand Paul aren't afraid of  a fight.

I'll follow that up with that I hear what you are saying about cowering and apologizing.   I watched John McCain and Mitt Romney get pummeled and never fought back.    That was the biggest reason why I was open to Trump.    By the time he came along, I was already at the place where I was thinking;  "fuk this sh!t, if all they are going to do is smear candidates and throw the 'racism', 'homophobia', etc labels at us over every policy disagreement - then give me someone who is going to punch back".     I like DeSantis because I agree with his policy positions and I like that he's a fighter.

i cant think of the examples offhand, but I distinctly remember moments in 2021 where a controversial political point happened, Trump was all over it immediately, and DeSantis said not a word.  DeSantis can't do that and win the nomination but hes already locked onto that path.  DeSantis is already taking the coward path.  DeSantis only wins if Trump doesn't run.
