Grunge should have stopped with Nervermind and maybe a few others. But Rolling Stone and the rest of the music industry shoved it down our throats for too long, and when they realized it was never going to have mass appeal they grabbed on to whatever was out there, not aware of how bad that crap was, and shoved that down our throats. And that crap sold because it’s all there was at that point. Classic rock and pop had reached mass consumption and nothing took its place because grunge was hogging all the airtime. The gap didn’t last long, but it was enough. Hootie was big for gods sake. Really big. The dolphins made him cry.

My first year in fantasy I decided it would be a good year to draft and trade for every Miami Dolphin. Marino was good. Keith Byars and Irving Spikes not so much. Made me cry too. jonmx 2,429 Posted December 20, 2020 Learn new things everyday. Prince, Jimmy Page and Roger Waters are all overrated muh. Here i thought they produced some of the greatest guitar solos/music of all time. I am anxious to know who qualifies as good.

It’s a weird phenomenon. Ask a millennial and they won’t get past 1999 and PR. Prince, at his core, was Rock and Pop

I would put Springsteen at number 1 and remove the Eagles, but the list as a whole. Solid. Doesn't need rankings. I hate Pink Floyd. This list is solid.
paulinstl 296 Posted December 20, 2020 Hendrix overrated? It's hard to give creedence to a list that includes Hendrix as overrated. He's only been the most influential guitar player to ever live.

Fantastic guitar player, very original & highly entertaining But I can't stand his voice or the tone of his guitar, and the overall sound of the recordings are really muddy and junky to me. Here are fifteen that aren't on my play list and that I could do without and not miss anything. Fill the other ten slots out with Rap and Grunge groups that wound up in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame but aren't rock groups. I don't know their names because the 90s sucked and I tuned them all out. Iggy Pop, The Cure, The Clash, The Cult, ZZ Top, Twisted Sister, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Sex Pistols, The Ramones, The Smiths, KISS, Beastie Boys, Frank Zappa, The Kinks, Marilyn Manson,
