Activists don’t want so much of Chicago’s $1.2 billion in relief going to cops, even to reimburse them.

The revelation that Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot spent $281.5 million in federal COVID-19 relief funds on personnel costs for the Chicago Police Department is prompting outrage from local activists and citizens alike.

“We asked for assurances they wouldn’t spend it all on police,” Alderman Daniel La Spata said Wednesday. “That’s the last thing people wanted, to infuse hundreds of millions more dollars into the police department right now.”

Let's face it, smart people will leave, morons will stay, and those morons will hopefully die at the hands of the criminals as they take over, and then good people win.

In the end, order will likely be restored as enough people leave or die and the Democrats have to restore the police, or maybe are removed.

Exactly. Herbivore is your typical liberal, who won’t be affected by what he advocates for. Probably lives in a safe red state or the red part of a state. But they feel good, which is what’s really important here.

I sometimes wonder WTF I’m doing here. Friends and family, that’s it. I used to love NY and was proud of it. Now I resent it. NY was always the sanest of the left wing states. I think Wall Street and rich people kept the politicians in check. But they’re all liberals now, able to wall themselves off from the rest of us. So they aren’t affected. Most of them ran off to Florida.

Yeah, she raged against the police last year and then when her home was attacked she made the police put officers outside her house to protect it.

The money is important but the way the left likes to spend, I guess I'm just desensitized to just another politician taking it upon themselves to decide to whom and how much they spend our money. That last chinese flu bill was a disaster. They couldn't just focus on helping people deal with the flu, they had to add billions to other special interests and go through a shlt show just to help our own people and businesses. $281M? Just a drop in the bucket.
