It was a brownie Sunday for the gf and I. Cookies and cream for the kid. I cant believe I left out the most impotent part.

Nuts, where in Chicago do you live? I’ve been here since August...from the East coast.  Still trying to figure out this city. I live in Gold Coast but like going to Streeterville and RiverNorth for a change up. River North is interesting. Mother Hubbards.... lol

I think it's stupid to make a kid wear a mask but it's their business.  If they tell you to put a mask on, then do it or just leave.  No reason to make a scene.

I'm in NC and I believe most sports are wearing masks at least in HS.   PA even had wrestlers wear them which is crazy.

I would never say anything to someone wearing a mask or not wearing a mask.  Do what you want but accept the consequences when going somewhere that requires them.  It's not hard.  Why would you wear a mask to the soccer field anyway?  Isn't it outside?

That sucks.  Is that a local / school thing or a state mandate?  Here, athletes don't have to wear masks, it's optional.  For spectators, masks are optional for outdoor events, but mandatory for indoor.

You love making things into a bigger deal than they are.  If a place requires you to wear a mask right now, then just do it or don't go there.  None of this is really that big of deal or even that hard to deal with.

Well, that makes sense then.  Those are generally run outside of the state government purview.  The governing body doesn't control them, they're a governing body within themselves.  They, like everyone else, has to do what the state mandates - at a minimum.  The state may not require them to wear it, but the association can institute that if they so choose.  I believe it was Georgia that was the state that said they were lifting the mandate of masks.  Things like that would prevent entities like the athletic association from forcing people to wear masks.  In NC, they didn't remove that mandate, so anyone can require it if they want to.  The athletic association apparently wants to.  If the governor removed the mandate, then the athletic association couldn't require it... just request it.  At least, that's what I was led to believe.
