It's never going down. Why would it?  Everyone can make money and get rich.  Work will be a thing of the past for everyone, duh.

Me - I would suggest you invest some money in Bitcoin. It's a store of value being used the world over. Governments, major companies, and corporations are sinking billions into this technology. If you're not into that check out ethereum. It's a blockchain technology that allows people to write code on it. It's currently being used by thousands of projects to include decentralized finance, NFTs, decentralized applications etc... It's an amazing technology that is growing every year. I would also check out DOT, ADA and a couple of others who have very interesting projects.

Everyone else - LoL I'mma buy this dog coin

Me - I mean sure it's your money, but doge coin doesn't have a team building anything on it. It has an infinite supply, and was made as a joke. It has nothing going for it.

Everyone else - but I saw a meme from a famous person. And just look at that cute little puppy.

Me - :wall:

You are right in the long run for sure. Doge keeps going up still and my question was can people stay on the wave for a few more months ? I heard Musk might mention it on SNL and that has got to make it go up more ?

Read it online. You think I did that math?

It must be true.

It was worth 1/2 a cent at one point.

My friend bought 7500$ worth last year when it was .011. She has over 700000 coins

last night she had over 500k

For reference I bought 1000$ at .053 and got around 18000 coins. I have around 12k now from that investment.

What an amazing difference in value 4 cents makes but your math is way off Ed

it's not my math and no it isn't

.005 per coin @ $1000 = 200000 coins x .65  =  $130,000

I don't think anyones math is right. $7500 at .011 doesn't get you over 700,000 coins, nor would it get that investment over 500k with a high of 69 cents per coin.

It's a joke for sure but as long as some places are accepting it as a form of payment, then it has application and value.... and herd mentality can keep it rising.

now what does that have to do with the problem?    200,000 coins at 5 cents per coin would cost you $10,000 not $1,000.......

Are you just nitpicking over rounding?

$7,500 / $0.011 = 681,818 coins

681,818 coins x $0.69 per coin = $470,454 (just using your numbers, I don't know anything about dogecoin)

please explain. I dont know what Dogecoin was trading at on January first but by these posts you seem to be implying it was trading at .05 per coin and then using .65 per coin as the valuation to get to $130,000.

now its half a cent? wouldn't that be .005?  Stooge?

Yes I was rounding I didn’t actually put it in the calculator. Just looked at 7500 x 0.01 which would be 750000 and since she had .011 I subtracted 50k then multiplied

You would have had to invest about $10K back then. Would you really have invested (speculated) that much into it?

For reference I spent 5k on gmE on Jan 16

doge was under 1c

but your right even straight 5k would only have put me around 500k today but realistically I’d have hit eds numbers cause I did do 1k so that would be 100k plus

it's hard to invest 10k into something so speculative, but I guess you could have told yourself "its only half a cent, do I think theres a better chance it goes to 1 cent or 1/4 cent?" Pretty much the same as wondering now if it can double to $1.20 or drop to 30 cents. At least back then it looked better as a lottery ticket.

If it was legitimately on your radar, I think you can kick yourself a little.

For me, it wasn't on my radar until  13 cents.
