JuneJuly 193 Posted August 2, 2024 I've been waiting for this. Good time to rebalance and start pushing in chunks that have been sitting on the sidelines making 5%. I wouldn't mind a full blown correction and even teetering into recession category when the fed finally gets the balls to reduce interest rates. Working on locking in bond ladders by the end of the year. I've been planning for this. Guppies cheer the highs and boo the lows. Sharks take advantage of both. JuneJuly 193 Posted August 2, 2024 I actually sold some REIT funds when balancing an account today. It's been a couple years since that's happened. Nice to take advantage of the cycles.

Fidelity High Dividend ETF looks interesting as well, although I was somewhat surprised to see that the top 3 holdings are members of the magnificent 7 & all 3 yield under 1% I suppose the fund manager is just trying to juice the returns. I'm considering initiating a small position in Amazon in my HSA & IRA, & adding $5000 of T Rowe price value in my taxable account. Banks are the hardest hit sector today. I sold citizens financial group CFG at around $44 earlier this week. Realized it was up 70% since my purchase last September & thought of the famous Warren Buffett quote. Pigs get fat, & hogs get slaughtered, so I took my profits. It's currently trading around $39 and I'm considering going back in.

NVida has had some sell off this week so I wanted a little bit FDVV is something I've been buying for a long time. It's a growth dividend ETF so no surprise it has the Mag7 in it. I throw a few hundred at it if the market dumps like it did today. I've been buying clean spark since $4 It's going to have a huge run up when BTC rips this fall/winter and I will sell it all around the same time when I start moving out of BTC and eth.

nobody 2,652 Posted August 2, 2024 I guess wall street thinks the Fed waited to long to drop rates. If they come in off the top rope with 0.5% cut in September are they all just going to pile back in? I don't think we have systemic risk here, but maybe I'm being naive. JuneJuly 193 Posted August 2, 2024 14 minutes ago, nobody said: I'm not quite following you. Opposite of what? I think a quarter is already baked in. If they come off the top rope as you say with two quarters I'm afraid the rotation out of stock continues. This past couple of weeks is because the rates aren't coming quick enough coupled with the unemployment showing the economy slowing. But, the only way to make it worse is to start cutting too quick, September is only a month away. They should stick with 0.25% and try to land this thing. Cut again in December if you need to. My fixed income is going up every day pretty much and more than I expected it even could. Not like my Large Cap Mutual Funds did from Jan 2, 2024 to July 18, 2024, but timing has been everything. I don't know how I do it. Gut instinct.

Both of my annuities have doubled in value in the last eight years, despite a pandemic and the bloodiest war on European soil since World War II. All of my mutual funds have doubled as well. My whole life is earning 6.3 percent - tax free - right now. And my variable universal life - also growing tax free in the market - is kicking ass as well. For what I put into the whole life over 10 years, I'll be able to collect double that - tax free - for 20 years in retirment. Meanwhile, you're still trying to get out of being 70 percent in the red after a scammer focked you over. I'm doing just fine, considering I've got two pensions to go with Social Security plus investments that have doubled in the past eight years. Thanks for playing. Perhaps the Krav Maga has damaged your brain to the point when you think you're winning from the bottom of a financial well. You're not exactly the gold standard when it comes to retirement planning.

You know that the whole life dividend isn't the return "making" rate right? Lol. And it's not tax free. Tax deferred is still taxed as ordinary income. I guess it's better to pay monkeys to sell this crap by reading off note crads than it would be to have someone actually understand that they're terrible investments.
