Halting construction of that Keystone pipeline is on Biden as is the lack of drilling leases for sites in the US.  I do agree that any new spike from this action shouldn't be shouldered entirely by the Biden regime for the reasons you point out, but up to this point is fair game. I have a feeling that we will see this will get blurred and conflated in the upcoming weeks... Biden and the MSM will claim it was always Russia's fault that the gas prices went up, while the GOP will have to remind people that 13 months of high gas prices were already in place before the invasion occurred.

Overall, I think the Biden* people have responded pretty dang impressively since the war started actually. Before the war it was a mixed bag, mostly negative. Biden* himself is a fool for the leadup signaling that Putin may be able to carve up a small slice of two provinces with little repercussion and also for tipping his hat that US troops would not interfere before the attack occurred. That "no interference" decision may or may not have been the right decision, but either way, you don't want Putin to know that. In fairness, Team Biden* correctly anticipated the invasions and gets credit for the timely warning for folks to leave in the week prior.

Exactly, you are picking at straws. The Biden Administration sent a delegation to Venezuela. It doesn’t matter if Biden was there, he is useless anyway. We are also ready to give Iran a new new deal to get oil from them. The bottom line is the Biden Administration is negotiating with with these countries rather than increased production here.

The one thing that I think can be nailed to Biden is the complete turning away from drilling in the US. WE need to be drilling in some spaces for stuff to help offset. The pipeline stuff means very little considering the pipeline is still running. All they did was turn away a revised Keystone pipeline. There is still after effects of the supply and demand changing for oil and that is affecting prices in addition to some sites still not being online and OPEC refusing to up their production (which in some cases they can't.) But I recognize that the visual narrative is "Gas Prices were X and now they are Y...." problem for the left is they have never figured out how to control the narrative of the "Why the prices are now Y"

What good is drilling if you don’t have a pipeline to move it? Profit margin sinks without the pipeline.

This is completely incorrect.  The pipeline that was canceled was Keystone XL.  XL was an expansion of TC Energy's Keystone system.  XL would have moved an additional 800,000 barrels a day over what that current keystone system is moving.

The Keystone pipeline is still there...It's still moving oil through.

I know what was canceled. The Keystone XL pipeline was an extension of the already existing Keystone pipeline. Essentially the same amount of oil that was coming into the country before is still coming in now. The oil that would go through the pipeline is still able to be transported in other ways so it can still be moved. and the pipeline would not be ready yet and would not necessarily move over 800,000 barrels a day nor is there any guarantee those producers would sell the oil here.

We are drilling. The number of drilling rigs is up 61% year over year. we are also producing a near record amount of domestic oil. It is not enough though.

https://rigcount.bakerhughes.com/

In my opinion this is the one thing that Biden is getting blamed for that he should not be. Ukraine fine, Afghanistan fine, terrible bills that failed congress fine, screwing up the FCC fine, calling for an end to remote work, focking roast that bastard.

But the oil prices and domestic production would have happened the same way regardless of who was potus.

That is not correct.  The oil is much more expensive and higher risk to move in ways other than a pipeline thus making it more expensive.

2017.  The entire Keystone system started in 2010.  XL was the last phase of the project.  Obama delayed the project in 2015.

Biden didn't meet with Venezuela, commie nitwit.

From your own story:

The last president to travel to Venezuela was Bill Clinton in October 1997.

I'm like one of my cats, with you being one of those poor little bugs that pick the wrong house to get into and wind up getting batted around like a hockey puck.

Go to bed.

Here we go again.

There are certain traps that low IQ retards walk into without knowing they set them off. And you just unknowingly set another off.

Again.

Yes, even you do, somehow, realize that Biden* is not personally going to Venezuela. So, congratulations of getting that much right. 🥉

The thing that the adults recognize about Joe Biden* is that we don't know from one appearance to the next what we're going to get from him. Sometimes he's there mentally decent enough, able to read the teleprompter lucidly enough to string sentences together correctly. At other times, his mental state more resembles yours. We've seen both from him. Just how much control he has over his agenda is up for speculation. Forgive me, I know I'm using big word, but I'm also addressing people who aren't retarded.

Anyway, Biden* does little personally because what he's capable of accomplishing is greatly diminished. Between his energy level as well as physical and mental state, he has limitations. What he can do (and does) and how the government is functioning is appoint subordinates to act on his behalf. For good or bad, whatever they accomplish or fail to accomplish reflects on him. For example, since the war started, I would say that Biden* has done a good job of uniting the world and getting aid to Ukraine. How much of that is due to the actions of Joe Biden himself? Probably next to none. But since NATO countries are uniting and the flow of supplies and equipment to Ukraine is going well while the sanctions are also coming into place, that reflects well on the boss in charge of all of that. The team of people he put in charge are making things happen and that reflects well on their boss. When things go to sh*t, like the Afghanistan withdrawal, that reflects negatively on the boss in charge. He gets the roses or he gets the thorns.

So of course Biden* isn't going to Venezuela. He doesn't need to. But a team of American officials chosen by him and responsible for him is going there. They're looking for oil to replace the oil taken off the market out of Russia. What they do there is correctly credited to him. Meanwhile, in Switzerland, he also has a team (of clueless idiots) negotiating with Iran right now and early signs this'll be another disaster. That'll reflect on him too. Biden* is a brand, not just a human vegetable.

You did use "Go to Bed" correctly this time. I agree that I should and I will within a half hour.

More expensive is a different argument that the same amount of oil is still coming through the pipeline- which is 100% accurate.

Please provide where you are seeing about 800,000 barrels a day more and all the other stuff about the pipeline being ready to go right now if Biden didn't cancel it and all that. Thanks in advance.

You are saying what I'm saying. I'm not saying get rid of all oil but I do think we need to look at other methods of energy production. Again- if we had more viable options right now it would lessen the impact of what is going on in the world.

It was like 6-8% done at the time it was halted. Not sure when they officially started any production but it was probably 4-5 years away and that is without any sense of court cases or all that stuff dragging the process out.

So really- it wouldn't be helping us any right now.

What Is Keystone XL?

The Keystone XL pipeline extension, proposed by TC Energy (then TransCanada) in 2008, was initially designed to transport the planet’s dirtiest fossil fuel, tar sands oil, to market—and fast. As an expansion of the company’s existing Keystone Pipeline System, which has been operating since 2010 (and continues to send Canadian tar sands crude oil from Alberta to various processing hubs in the middle of the United States), the pipeline promised to dramatically increase capacity to process the 168 billion barrels of crude oil locked up under Canada’s boreal forest. It was expected to transport 830,000 barrels of Alberta tar sands oil per day to refineries on the Gulf Coast of Texas.

Again though- that oil can still be transported other ways....and there is still oil coming through the pipeline. It just isn't necessarily getting to the Gulf Coast through the pipeline

You know more about this kind of stuff than anyone here, I imagine.

From what I understand, Canadian tar sands already are flowing through pipelines to refineries in Houston, and tar sands are not the favorite thing for refineries to refine. The Keystone would have been a complementary pipeline to bring in more tar sands, and the refined tar sands would have been a foreign export.

So other than the speculative/mental aspect of not having an extra pipeline, how would the Keystone actually lower pump prices? And how much less cost-effective is it to transport the oil via railroad or truck? Would we be putting people (truckers, etc.) out of work if that Keystone is built?

I've never had a problem with the pipeline or pipelines in general. There are so many of them, what's one more?

Look at all these focking pipelines. 😂

It's also important to note that the oil companies could lower prices and still make a killing. Last year the top 24 gas/oil companies made 174 billion dollars in net income.
