comments from the video.  i wont attest to the veracity of them but there were quite a few thought provoking ones:

The only unusual thing it's reserve members rather than active duty members, but recruitment numbers are low the last few years, so in order to avoid pulling troops from other areas and locations, we are activating reserve members to fill the gap. Reminder: This is absolutely normal for us to rotate troops to and from our allied nations all over the world It's just a show of force. We did the same thing to China, N. Korea, we station troops in neighboring allied countries to make them rethink their options.

8. I'm concerned about the chances of escalation as well, but I don't see how 3000 individuals is anything to write home about. We've been running a skeleton crew in Europe, with low numbers on the eastern flank specifically to appease Russia. In the Cold War we had more than 300k personnel in Europe ready to go at a moment's notice. Right now we're still only at around 100k total.

12. This is an authorization for the IRR, not an actual activation for the IRR. You can see there has been plenty of these over the last 23 years, but actual IRR activations haven't happened since 2001 and 2004.

the grain deal is effectively terminated.  Ukraine and Russia made a deal months ago to allow Ukraine to ship grain out of the Odessa port on the Black Sea to help feed the world.  THis deal officially terminates on July 17th but Russia is already starting to bomb Odessa and will probably destroy its port soon to stop all shipments.  it is highly suspected that Ukraine is shipping in arms, amo, etc thru that port.

This is about Democracy!  Also, the recruitment officers for the Ukraine army have gotten rich off of bribes to let men with money escape being drafted. Call up the reserves!

I wonder how many of the Russian casualties were the mercs, and how many were regular Russian army? I do know that more than a handful of Russian generals have been killed.  Which is crazy in modern warfare and speaks to Russia not giving a Fock about deaths. They never have, which makes them dangerous.
