However I notice a contradiction. In a different thread you continually and confidently predict that, because Russia is losing the war, Putin will very soon launch nuclear weapons against the United States. Yet in this thread you continually and confidently predict that any moment now Ukraine is going to collapse and that the powerful Russian army will continue to invade Europe, with a member of NATO as their next target, I would submit that these two positions, beyond the fact that they’re both completely asinine and ridiculous, cannot exist together outside of your warped imagination.

Personally I care a lot about African genocide and would support America taking a much greater stand fighting it, particularly in Sudan. But of course the difference is that the Ukraine situation presents a geopolitical threat to the USA.

I see where you’re going. I disagree with you. We are helping Ukraine because it’s in our geopolitical interests. 

Morally speaking, Joseph Stalin was every bit as evil a murderer as Adolf Hitler. Yet we allied ourself with Stalin because the Nazis were a bigger threat to us than the Soviet Union. That was the choice we faced and we made the correct decision. We have to make similar decisions today. There is no hypocrisy involved.

Every war involves the murder of innocent people. That’s one of the themes of Oppenheimer, which I saw last night and highly recommend. If you want to argue that war is therefore immoral, I won’t argue. But Ukraine didn’t start the war.

He seriously overestimates a Russian military that took nine months to take a small town the size of Muncie, Indiana. He also fails to understand how stupid Russia would be to attack Poland, which is a NATO country, meaning the combined militaries of more than 30 nations goes after Russia. He also cites "rumors" as his source, as if he can get to information that all the other reputable news sources of the world cannot. Odesa hasn't been bombed into oblivion, and while the Ukraine offensive didn't pan out as hoped, thanks to mines and a need for more air support, the Russians are anything but speedily heading to Kiev.

from what im hearing, Russia and NATO are working on a rulesheet to where Poland and Russia go to war in the ruins of Ukraine and not trigger article 5.  But it sounds like all parties are now assuming Russia will conquer Ukraine and the next phase is Russia vs Poland.  NATO is more interested in using the Polish as fodder to test their weapons than actually starting WW3, and Russia wants to conquer Poland next.  So they are making a deal in that regards.  Thats what I'm hearing.
