The whole point is for the US to recognize Crimea (and maybe other areas) as Russian, then withdraw support and then drop sanctions. He didn't stop the war in 24 hours. He's still trying. No one should believe he could 100% be able to end the war in 24 hours. No reason to keep discussing the 24 hour talk.
