Chiefs Trade Tyreek Hill to Miami

Last 3 years: The Rams had Cooper Kupp and OBJ, Bucs had Evans/Godwin/AB, and the Chiefs had Tyreek Hill. Obviously the QB is the most important position, kind of self-evident. Most teams need an elite or at least very good passing game to compete. Elite WR's make that possible. If you lose an elite WR and replace him with a bunch of JAG's, you're passing game got worse. Case closed...

Rams had Kupp before Stafford and didn’t win a super bowl.

The Bucs had Evans and Godwin before Brady and didn’t win a super bowl.

And Hill didn’t win a super bowl without Mahomes.

I think a great Qb rises the bar , I can’t wait to see how Adams and Hill do this season without great qbs.

true.  doesnt matter how good the WR is.  if the QB cant hit him when hes open, the talent becomes wasted talent.

but there are cases where the #1 WR makes a QB better and cases where the QB makes the WR better.

with Mahomes, its tough to say which is which because kelce and Tyreek have always been there.

sure you had a look when hill got hurt and missed a game or two but thats too small a sample size to tell us the answer.

I think the offense is still very good, but not at the level it was before.   Thats my prediction.  Mahomes is still a QB1 but not an elite one. (elite being top 3 or top 4 QB for fantasy)

team will still be good, and should make the playoffs.  but likely no longer the team to beat in their conference.

of course that could change if they hit on a top WR at the draft table.  but you cant count on THAT.

And yet Mahomes keeps getting draft in ff as early as round 2.

Thats a bad pick.

Don’t draft a Qb until the double digit rounds.

even if the plan is to draft a WR, you still need to bring someone in.   not all WR's are ready to step into a starting role day one of their rookie season.

to that end, these moves are necessary even if the plan was to draft someone all along.

it seems more often rookie receivers have been contributing though.  It used to be very rare to see immediate impact.  Now it seems to be happening more often.

Metcalf would be a good pick up for the Packers or KC.

For sure. Remember when you used to have to wait until year 3 on a receiver? Now you’re on your way out of the league if you haven’t produced by then

Unless you have great speed, MSV going into season five, has had four season with some Qb  named Rodgers, and he avg 2 rec per game.

But he still continues on in the nfl.

That is self-evident as I said. Even someone who doesn’t watch the game knows a QB is more important than a WR. Still, losing an elite wr and replacing him with mediocre options makes your passing game worse, regardless of who your QB is. Even a mentally challenged fella, like yourself understands this premise…

After hosting four straight conference championship games, the Chiefs are clearly the team to beat in the AFC.

Oc is clearly not the best team in the AFC west, and they won’t be ever again with Mahomes as their Qb.

Thank you, Jeane Dixon.

But until they're beat, they're still the team to beat.

Scoreboard.

Awkward because every team is 0-0 to start the season, or did you have a more salient point to make?

You said to look at the score board.  I don't see the Chiefs with more points or wins than anyone else.  Do you?

I dont know of too many G men fans who think their team is superbowl bound.  most of them(with one or two notable exceptions) think their team stinks.

That said, I'd agree with them.

Nonsense. Giants fans know their team is lousy. Do better, oh wait, you are trying your best. Bless your heart, Forrest…

Was talking about Super Bowls, worst then that I was talking not be able to simply make the playoffs but once the last ten years and zero the last five, every single season they think this is that season they break through and make the playoffs. And watching them degrade someone else’s team , who’s team has had a lot of recent success is very entertaining.

Not true, last year was the turn around year, didn’t you make some kind of bet that you never paid off about them improving? And you don’t speak for all Gmen fans.  I’m sure that makes Gmen fans happy.

Thanks.

Ohhh, I see.  I thought you recognized the figure of speech.

I wasn't really saying, "Look at the score board."

"Scoreboard!" is an expression people use when the proof of what they say is apparent to anyone who cares to look at the facts.  So in this case, when someone says, "the Chiefs are no longer the team to beat in the AFC," the response "Scoreboard!" means that the apparent evidence (of hosting four straight AFC championship games) shows that they are.

Sorry, sometimes I get to talking over my audience.

Those four straight AFC championship games won’t  be worth anything in 2022.

He only has 2 punt returns over the last 3 seasons.  He may have been out there but either fair caught them or they were touchbacks, but he's only credited with 2 punt returns from 2019 to 2021.

There is a meme going around quoting tyreek as saying after his first practice with Miami, going from Mahomes to Tua is like going from a Ferrari to a used 2001 Honda civic.   That can't be correct, can it?

That he said it?  No.  That he feels it?  Yes.

I loved the one where the kids were playing street fooball, and the kid labeled "TYREEK" runs a go, and the kid labeled "TUA" throws the ball into a mailbox about 10 feet away.
