My basic question to you is:  if people aren't doing these things, what is the objection to putting procedures in place to eliminate these things which aren't being done?   

Here is where the disconnect is- If you tell a teacher "There are problems in schools." Most of them would agree with you. But if you say "THe biggest problems are grooming kids and CRT," teachers will roll their eyes because both of those are so far down the list of actual issues in schools.

Teachers don't care about monitoring classrooms by and large. The idea is- what is the end game? To just play gotcha? That doesn't help anyone.

There still are not strong widescale examples of CRT in classrooms yet people are still hung on it. You want to fix real school issues- reconfigure equity in funding, move away from standardized testing, eliminate funding tied to that testing, empower teachers to do more....etc

That may be accurate but I didn't say mainstream media, I only said media.

I don't think many are doing much research into the topic and are just repeating what they are hearing from their preferred media sources.  Have you tried getting info from the other side?   Maybe ask actual teachers and people in education?  If you've done both and still come to the same conclusion then you may be right.

Speaking of money...here's an interesting (possibly conspiracy) theory.  Apparently with Florida's new law, there is only one publisher that makes approved textbooks.  Just so happens to be a company that Glenn Youngkin was CEO of for 25 years...

I see how you're trying to compare the two but I don't think it's a great comparison.  One is about teaching and the other is about people getting killed.  It's works to a certain extent.

The shortage on police seems odd.  Departments all over the US have been saying they are struggling with shortages but a law enforcement fact website says they have the most ever with over 800,000 officers.

I don't subscribe to the "there are worse problems so we shouldn't address others" belief.  Your CRT comment is a Spinal Tap "but this one goes to 11" one.  And I disagree with your list of bigger issues, but I don't want to sidetrack the thread.

I do have thoughts on the grooming but I need to head out again, maybe later.
