Damn Near 0 RB Approach in 12-team ppr:

QB - Borrow (5)

RB - Javante Williams (2)

 RB - Hellaire (6)

WR - Chase (1)

WR - Evans (3)

Flex - Mike Williams (4)

TE - Everett (15)

Back-up Rbs.... Singletary (7), Sanders (8), Henderson (9)

...............................................................................

In most leagues, I'd say my team is average. However, my league has a freaky scoring system which my fellow owners don't seem to grasp the implications. Rbs and Wrs get 1 point per 10 yards and ppr like most leagues. But beyond 100 yds, it's 2 points per 10 yards.  Ya know which position eclipses 100 yards most?  Wrs by a mile.  Chase had two games last year with over 200 yards... highest score was 74 points in a single game. Qbs get double yardage points for over 300 yds and 0.5 pt per COMPLETION, so forget about running Qbs.  In one game last year, Borrow threw 525 yds and finished with 78 points.

Based on that scoring, I've already won.

I like Singletary over Hellaire. Go back and look at the Bills last 7 or so games last year. I think KC is souring on Hellaire.

Borrow is the dude who averaged 288 yds and 23 completions per game last year. In my league's weird scoring that's 23.0 pts alone without any Td's or overage points. And that was his sophomore season.

One for the good guys.  B)

Yeah, gonna struggle to pick the right 2nd Rb each week... Singletary, Hellaire, Sanders. I'll probably pick it wrong every time. But none of them blow up much anyway. You're probably right though to start with Singletary.

I obviously blew off the importance of a good #2 Rb in favor of elite Wrs and a solid QB solely due to my league's scoring. Tried to make up for it with Rb shotgun rounds 6, 7, 8 and 9.

based on your scoring system, i'd say it makes sense to go stud WR in round 1... and to make sure you have an elite passing QB. Burrow is clearly not the only elite passing QB though. I'd be interested in what RBs were there in the 3rd and 4th when you picked because I still think WR is so deep you could have passed on Evans or Williams for a better RB and still got a great WR option in round 6.  Without looking it up, I kind of feel like the notion that WR eclipses 100 yards the most is also strongly driven by the fact that many NFL offenses can sustain more than 1 100 yard receiver.

So I definitely get the strategy and banking on last years numbers from Chase and Burrow is probably okay because they are just getting started but I would have picked up a better back than CEH and not taken much of a hit at all from Williams as your flex.

Also you're starting a waiver wire tight end

No doubt 1st round Wr works for that scoring and mitigates Rb injury risk. I was actually hoping for DJ Moore in the 3rd, purely due to the yardage. But Evans surprised me falling mid-3rd and his easy Tds were too tempting.

Rb's given up in the 3rd and 4th... Connor, Montgomery, Etienne, Akers, Elliott, Hall...  no doubt all better than Singletary or Hellhaire.  But those round 6 Wrs don't project to have many 100+ yd games... Schuster, M Brown, Cooper, Jeudy.  Think I'm better off with Evans and Mike Williams.

As for the elite yardage Qb - obviously I wanted Allen, Herbert or Mahomes, but they would've cost 2nd or 3rd rounders. I thought Burrow was a good poor man's version. My back-up plan was Dak in the 7th or 8th... glad it didn't come to that.

And yes my Te is garbage, but so is everyone's outside the top 3. Interestingly Everett got a 2-year $12m contract with the pass-happy Chargers and last year 34 y.o. TE Cook had 83 targets (in 16 games). Cook is now gone and the remaining Te only blocks. Everett will likely get picked up in most leagues by week 4. People forgot about him after 5 years of mediocrity. He's got a decent shot at finishing 10th+- as the Chargers main Te and Herbert racking up yardage.

RATE MY TEAM!@#!

Half point PPR - 12 Teams - Pretty Standard scoring otherwise

QB: Jalen Hurts, M.Stafford

RB:  Dalvin Cook, Eiljah Mitchell, Antonio Gibson, Michael Carter

WR:  CeeDee Lamb, Tyreek Hill,  Mike Williams, Treylon Burkes

TE:  Zach Ertz, Cole Kmet

I think that's a very solid team, but you only have 2 viable rbs imo. Gibson is probably a waste. I would have Jonathan Williams on my roster in case he takes over for the fumbling Gibson

Burrow had 6 games over 300 and 4 below 200. I doubt many people  won with him last year. Don’t use averages.

I’d have gone Conner or Etienne round 4 and Hollywood Brown round 6. Big yardage upside there. Also like JuJu

12 teams? My guess is you reached on Pitts. Not in terms of his adp but lots of people are reaching on him as soon as Kelce and Andrews pop.

I like Pierce as a 3rd RB, good luck picking between Harris and Stevenson on a weekly basis (assuming no injury).

For waiting on RB, I would have expected better WR depth. You have at best an RB2 if Pierce hits. I suspect an early Pitts pick derailed this team a bit.

but I know from experience that you’re a good owner. You’ll make the right moves to right the ship.

It's true, I love Pitts, he's a keeper in my higher stakes auction league so I am biased. I do gots 7 RBs after not taking any in the first four rounds. Just need to hit on a couple of them. Hopefully my first RB taken is Lamar.

can franchise 1 of them? and non ppr..... that rules out Amon-Ra as his value probably drops slightly relative to some other receivers in PPR formats.

How many rounds is the draft?!? That seems like super late keeper prices for a player like Hurts who should have been drafted much higher last year.

Burrow is still great value as a 9th but i've been coming around on Hurts as a potential top 3 fantasy QB so I would lean him or Akers.

My gut tells me Hurts and then to go RB/RB to start the draft

I went akers, 10 team league

Burrow, Lawrence

Kamara, Swift, Akers, Montgomery, zamir white, James Cook

MarknAndrews, Higgins, Mooney, Kirk, Bateman, Doubs

Carlson

Raiders

Breece Hall is an RB3 in a 12 teamer. (a shaky one, imo).

I really like Swift and Chase, although I think they gain value in PPR, they both have big play ability for the distance TDs.... but I have no idea who your 3rd round pick was. In non PPR I guess it was Hall?!? I feel like there had to have been better options available in rounds 3/4 in a 10 team league.

If Thomas is right and Godwin gets up to speed quickly, your WR depth is good. Not much i'm excited about behind Dobbins at RB.

My 8 teamer for reference, I even left value on the board because my 11 and 13 year old nephew are in the league, along with my mom and sister in law. We do this league for my two nephews, I already accepted a trade where the 11 year old ripped me off for a WR, that is why my receivers suck for an 8 teamer.

I was just pretty much choosing random guys I wanted to watch on TV and still ended up with a "stacked" team compared to 12 teamers.

Fields/Trey Lance

McCaffrey, Fournette, ETN, Eli Mitchell, CEH

DJ Moore, Gabe Davis, Elijiah Moore, Davante Smith

Kelse/Ertz

I was running leagues at 13… but I was a degenerate. Can’t let them be soft.
