Week 9 Observations

Recommended Posts

Nothing quite like fantasy football. As a Joe Mixon owner, earlier today I was about ready to start a week 9 FU thread. Seems like his first 3 or 4 carries were for either 2 yards, or a loss. Now he's having an absolute monster day.

I keep a text file of weekly notes & reminders for my fantasy leagues. After week four I made a note to myself  "Start any and all players against the Lions" If the Packers were going to turn things around, seems like today would've been the day. Instead, Rogers is 12-23 179 yds,  & 3 interceptions. Looks like they're really done :)

If it wasn't common knowledge before, it is now. Jamaal Williams is a weekly start even when Swift is 100% healthy.

Not sure if Mostert is injured, or Wilson Jr is taking over ?  Looks like Jr Will be mentioned in a lot of WW articles next week.

Own Mixon in two leagues, he is finally helping me dig out of a big hole.

a hole he helped create with subpar play earlier in the season.

fully realize this isnt 100% on him.  the line has had injuries and while those guys were out he just didnt produce.   The rest of the offense was also subpar.

but Im glad to see him finally showing what he can do.

todays game is the reason you keep guys like him.    at times he can be a gamebreaker.    The kind that can turn the tide of a game by himself with a big performance.

Mixon has traditionally been a slow starter, with much better second halves. Seems like he kicked it up a notch. I'll take it, made my matchup pretty boring but better than the alternative.

Meanwhile, made my best call of the year...said screw the rankings and analysts and sat Lamar Jackson. For Justin Fields.

Went against Mixon today and Kelce when he had his 4td’s. Even the patriots nearly 40 points couldn’t save me. Lost season.

Expectations for the post-Wilson Seahawks are low. Very low. DraftKings Sportsbook has the Seahawks’ over/under win total set at a paltry 5.5. For now, Geno Smith is the man at quarterback to replace Wilson, and that’s the main reason the projected wins is near the bottom of the league.

The GOAT pulls another win out of his arse. Lucky he was playing the Rams. Don't normally win a game that you had to throw 58 times.

Because he’s not a good actual player. Easy to rack up meaningless stats against defenses that are solely focused on taking away the big play, knowing that it’s the only way you could pull off an actual W

They lost that stud OLT .. Whitsworth?  And, I think at least two other O/Lmen changed from 2021 to 2022.  Also: see the impact on the O/L in TB..

Wish I had done the same and followed my gut. All the expert sites had Herbert ranked well ahead of Fields. My gut said they were wrong since he had no weapons but then I second guessed myself - they must know something. UGH. I lost. Same thing last week "Carr should be good enough" against the same Falcons. Just needed 200 and a TD. Back to back losses with Fields on my bench. I'm not going to look at or listen to any rankings this week. My gut would've been 2-0.

Yes - winning in FF often means ignoring the "experts".  My good call for the week was starting Palmer over McLaurin.

Mooney finally scores, pull Terrace Marshall off the WW and he scores. Arizona off the WW and they score. Lowest point total of the year.
