He is one of the 5 persons most responsible for the freedom of Eastern Europe, along with Ronald Reagan, Margaret Thatcher, Pope John Paul II, and Lech Walesa. Hungary in particular owes its liberation mostly to George Soros. In recent years Soros has donated much money to liberal causes which makes him a villain for the right, much as the Koch brothers have been villains for the left. Ironically, one of Soros’ good friends over the years was the late Sheldon Adelson, who gave as much money to right wing causes as Soros has given to left wing causes.
