"Augustus Anheuser III says he had no idea the marketing department at Anheuser Busch approved a campaign that promoted LGBTQ behaviors and lifestyles. As the company’s current CEO, he issued a formal apology to his customers.

“To anyone offended by the campaign, I am truly sorry,” he said in a statement obtained by the DKT, “I was unaware that the people entrusted to promote our brand were so out of touch with our customer base.”

Anheuser says his company will strive to do better in the future and that the new marketing director has already been told in no uncertain terms that rainbows on beer cans are not going to stand."

He calls it a campaign here but it really wasn't. Nevertheless, they did officially apologize.

Also, you're right that the responsible individual has not technically been "fired." But she has been removed from her position and has no new responsibilities at the company. So the outcome is the same.

You know, when someone posts something that doesn't pass the smell test without a link my Strikey sense goes off, and this was one of those times.  So, I went ahead and did your research for you.  And guess what?  The above is 100% false:

https://www.reuters.com/article/factcheck-budweiser-ceo-apologized-idUSL1N36E1XP

I never put you in the same camp as Squis but this definitely hurts your credibility.

My bad. I should've included a link. Here is another apology, with a link.

Anheuser-Busch’s top executive on Friday offered an apology flatter than a day-old Bud Light as the beer giant reels from the backlash over its sponsorship deal with controversial transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney.

“We never intended to be part of a discussion that divides people,” Anheuser-Busch InBev CEO Brendan Whitworth said in press release titled “Our Responsibility To America.”

“We are in the business of bringing people together over a beer.”

Whitworth finally broke his silence over the brewing controversy but made no mention of the sponsorship deal with Mulvaney — which has led to calls for a boycott of the nation’s largest beer company.

He also didn’t address reports that senior executives were kept in the dark about the Mulvaney rollout.

Link

They did issue an apology. Which was my point.

That’s not an apology. That’s expressing regret because it backfired. There’s no acknowledgement. No, “”Mulvaney isn’t a woman”. You know, the offensive part.

Bullsh*t.  This has already been posted.  Go back and reread this thread.  NOWHERE in that statement are the words "sorry' or "apologize" mentioned or even hinted at.  You posted something you THOUGHT was an apology, and acted indignant when people didn't respond to it the way you thought, probably because to them it didn't feel like it had happened, as I felt and proved.    Now you're doubling down by posting something that has already been posted and dismissed?  Just take the L on this one and move on.

If you're waiting for him to say "Mulvaney is not a woman", you're going to be waiting a long time.

Like I said earlier, they've put it behind them and are moving on. Which is the right move imo.

He's just trying to save face after acting all indignant about posting a false "apology" and getting caught, instead of being a man and taking the L.

Of course "they" have.  "They" would love it if everything went back to before "they" had to sell their beer at a loss.  But "they" haven't apologized, which was your assertion.

It is comical that the board lefties are outraged that former Bud Light drinkers don’t return to the brand but none of them are outraged enough to go out and buy Bud themselves.

If you want to show your support, put your money where your mouth is comrades.

You're right. I'm wrong. They haven’t said the words "we're sorry for partnering with a tranny..."

Thank you.  I had not seen that at all from Augustus Anheuser.  What I saw was the CEO of AB USA making excuses and trying to guilt customers into buying their products again because - "My Employees!".  So, his boss apologized on his behalf didn't make the AB USA CEO come clean?

The other thing that bothers me is the the CEO of AB USA is a former Marine - one of MY fellow Devil Dogs.  I can't believe a Marine wouldn't own up to his mistake and instead make excuses.

Good thing you aren't in active duty anymore. I'd hate for our military to have people as soft as you in it

I have no problem with it, but the person taking that shot better have background to be making those shots in the first place when you're talking about the Armed Services.

Mooney served Good Humor ice cream out of a truck back in the day. That's what qualified him to be a public school teacher current day.

Hah!  Sure, okay.  You have a lot of that iCourage hiding behind that keyboard.

The very fact someone has served makes them 1000x tougher and harder than you.  Doesn't even matter what they did in the service, much less serving in the Infantry.

I think it’s hypocritical to boycott BL because of this but not the enormous list of other brands that also support the same thing. Most people are just following along with the others in the boycott. It’s like a fad.

Yeah, everyone on this forum is a hypocrite. This one happened to get the board lefties all fired up.

Why hypocritical? People just don't want to buy it because they like their advertising. So what? Is there some obligation we should feel to buy their product?

Yes. Some people stop rooting for the team they grew up rooting for because of it.

You thought people were stupid for pouring  out the Bud light they had already purchased. Don’t recall you saying the same thing when people were pouring out the Russian vodka they had already purchased.  And what’s even dumber, much of that vodka wasn’t even Russian. Liberals are so stupid.

Why? For some reason you are dismissing people's reasons for simply not purchasing a product. Just because you don't agree with them. Why do companies even have ads if you feel people have an obligation to buy their product?

We all have opinions on pretty much everything here. We give each other crap about those opinions daily. I think this particular opinion is really stupid. I’m sure you feel the same about many other opinions stated on here. I’ve given my reason as to why I think it’s stupid and hypocritical.

I love how this has developed into a "boycott", rather than simply people not wanting to support pedophilia. And non science.

I honestly don’t even remember it being that big of deal. If it was talk about as much as BL on here then I would’ve shared the same opinion. I think it’s stupid.
