BREAKING: Senate Judiciary Republicans just blocked the SCERT Act from passing the Senate and requiring an enforceable code of conduct for all Supreme Court justices.

That's GREAT news!  It's clear this was the first step in removing a justice and replacing them with one of their own since they can't do it the right way.

Everyone sees this for what it is: The Democrats are mad they didn't get their justices so they're trying to do an end-around to get them.

If Obama hadn’t been so arrogant and lazy there would be one more liberal and one less conservative on the court.

Clarence Thomas raised him 'as a son.' Now he's facing 25-plus years on weapons and drug charges.

The man who was raised by Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas and his wife, Ginni, as their own son from ages 6 to 19 is in jail awaiting trial on drugs and weapons charges, Business Insider has learned.

Mark Martin, the grandson of Thomas' sister, Emma Mae Martin, lived with the Thomas family in Virginia from 1997 to 2010, during which time Clarence and Ginni Thomas were his legal guardians. He's a central figure in the furor over undisclosed gifts that Thomas received from a billionaire friend, Harlan Crow.

Now 32 years old, Martin told BI in an interview from the Jasper County Detention Center in South Carolina that Clarence and Ginni Thomas washed their hands of him years ago.

The Thomases sent Martin to the elite military prep school Randolph-Macon Academy, as well as a residential therapeutic treatment center called Hidden Lake Academy, which frequently used camping trips and wilderness programs as therapeutic tools.

(Hidden Lake Academy became the subject of congressional hearings about facilities for troubled teens over claims they could mislead families and turn abusive.)

Crow, a conservative donor and longtime family friend of the Thomases, paid the tuition for both schools, ProPublica reported. None of the payments were recorded at the time as gifts on Thomas' financial disclosures. Crow is an alumnus of Randolph-Macon. This month, in financial disclosures, Thomas acknowledged two vacations Crow had funded in 2019, one to Bali and another to California.

Obviously a road trip in his luxury bus, however he did turn down John Oliver's offer.

His luxury RV that they bought for him is probably for smaller vacations TBH.

The summer months are for paid vacations on PJ’s to Europe or South Pacific.

Yeah the luxury RV is for “remote working” during the docket. Not the five star luxury vacations paid for by his billionaire sponsors

Correct. Corruption is trying to do an end around to the system because you didn't get the justices you wanted.  Glad we could agree on that!  👍

That's not happening.  What's happening is we're trying to set ethics and accountability standards for the supreme court.  You object because your guys fail.  That's your problem.

That's EXACTLY what's happening.  Why do you support corruption?  Are you just inherently a bad person?  Or did you train for that?

You're either too dumb to understand this or you're an ass hole.  Likely both.

There is no end around you dope.  It's holding all justices to a level of ethics and ABAC.  This is the opposite of corruption.

Amazing that all these ethical quandaries like a code of ethics for SCOTUS, Presidents being indicted and wanting to pardon themselves, riots in the capitol building, etc. were never an issue before Trump. But NOW we HAVE to do something about all these abuses cuz poor little Donnie can't keep his hands out of the cookie jar, or his giant piehole shut.

Isn’t the point that the SC has no one to hold them accountable, life long positions.

I get there are arguments as to why this is this way for them, but a discussion about ethical standards being a bit more than self regulatory would seem to be a good idea.

You're either too stupid to realize what's going on or you're being willfully ignorant.  Which one is it cause it can only be one of the two.  I vote for you're too stupid.

Even scientologists complain that liberals "are in a cult".

Justice Clarence Thomas never disclosed three trips aboard the private jet of the Texas billionaire Harlan Crow, according to documents obtained by the Senate Judiciary Committee released on Thursday.

The documents, obtained by Democrats on the panel, list three visits that have not previously been reported: one to a city in Montana, near Glacier National Park, in 2017; another to his hometown, Savannah, Ga., in March 2019; and another to Northern California in 2021.

The purpose of each trip was not immediately clear, nor was the reason for their omission on the justice’s disclosure forms. However, all of the flights involve short stays: two were round trips that did not include an overnight stay.

The revelation underlined the extent to which Justice Thomas has relied on the generosity of his friends over the years and the consistency with which he declined to report those ties.

I saw that value of his gifts has crept over 5 million now.

Yep.

All of this fake outrage is nothing more than an end-around to the Constitution to try and replace a Justice with one of their own since they got karma'd by their own rules when Trump was in office.

It goes something like this:

  • Uncover "dirt" on <insert name of Justice you want to replace here> that you can spin
  • Get some fake outrage going about "corruption" and act all moral, ignoring all of the current and previous "corruption" on your side
  • Promise you're going to "do something about it"
  • Come up with some legislation that will "fix the problem"
  • Get legislation passed if you can
  • If legislation passes, use new legislation to impeach the <insert name of Justice you want to replace here> (but ONLY if you have (D) POTUS in office) using nebulous "dirt" you found in step 1
  • Setup sham hearing to impeach <insert name of Justice you want to replace here>
  • Justice is impeached resulting in a new opening on the SCOTUS
  • (D) POTUS nominates <insert name of Justice you want to replace here> with activist (D) Justice
  • Activist (D) Justice appointed to Court
  • Claim "problem has now been fixed", we can trust the SCOTUS again!!
  • Continue to ignore corruption on your side
  • Rinse and repeat for next SCOTUS Justice you don't like.

Imagine being so full of yourself and trying to hide your limitless corruption by selling yourself as a down to earth regular lady by posting a video of you eating 1 of 30 types of ice cream that you have stored in your $30,000 refrigerator/freezer.

Isn't she also the one who videoed herself drinking a beer as if she's just your average hometown likable neighbor?

Public servant?
