JustinCharge 2,397 Posted May 10, 2023 Bill Clinton paid a $25k fine to avoid being indicted for perjury. Democrats had no problems with this. https://www.washingtonpost.com/archive/politics/2001/01/20/in-a-deal-clinton-avoids-indictment/bb80cc4c-e72c-40c1-bb72-55b2b81c3065/ By John F. Harris and Bill Miller January 20, 2001 With just hours left in office, President Clinton reached a deal with the independent counsel yesterday that ensures he will avoid indictment for his misleading statements about Monica S. Lewinsky. In exchange, Clinton offered prosecutor Robert W. Ray something he had never before been willing to give: a forthright admission that he gave false testimony under oath. So keep pulling people out of the weeds to accuse him, and we all dont get what we want. Maybe next pull up some of the Kavanaugh folks. Instead of strengthening him with pointless tactics, how about we stop making him to be a martyr with all these pointless court nonsense. I think Desantis can be the guy if the addicts over on the Democrat side stop all this silliness. Justy treat it like a laptop full of evidence and pretend it all away. Don had dozens of SA allegations before he took office. Throw a rock in NY and you’re liable to hit a woman he raped.

As for discussing a very public figure and a very public legal case and implications and situations surrounding that case, I am going to opine that MDC is on extremely safe legal grounds. Oh yeah, that is absolutely worth enjoying.....but again, that is a temporary "feel good" with a nasty surprise on the back end. This is my biggest problem with liberals, the need for immediate gratification with no acknowledgement of the consequences....

Deep down, the people who voted for him always knew he’s a fraud, a cheat and a sexually assailant. But your insistence that this helps him is pure delusional fantasy. Found to be a defamer and sexual batterer to a preponderance of the evidence. Of course, this is one chapter in a book yet to be written. Other charges and allegations are still pending. Who knows what will be on the official record when it is all said and done. Me, I have never understood the support for this extremely flawed man. I support holding him to account for his actions. I will watch the story develope. For me this chapter is closed, though I hear he may try to keep it open by an appeal. I was a bit surprised the jury found her allegations credible enough for a judgment, though I was not in court listening to all of the evidence or presentations. I suspect the jury did a bit of extrapolating based on percieved bad character of Trump. the court allowed that when it admitted character evidence which i found somewhat surprising, though not unprecedented. His life of bombast seemed to have caught up with him. I must admit I found that a bit satisfying. I probably should not, yet I do.

I didn’t follow the case enough that well and was also surprised by the verdict. I don’t think Trump faces any consequences over this other than the $, which he can afford. I just like seeing a shameless bald faced liar and creep get exposed. Now we know at least some of the other allegations are true too. If you enjoy using that label I don't have much of an issue with it beyond one of semantics, I suppose. I am probably being nebbishy here not based on politics or partisanship, but on training as an attorney. My taking note of the label is probably a good example of why folks hate attorneys. Strike 5,233 Posted May 11, 2023 So it turns out this Ho wouldn't have been able to sue Trump except for a law that was passed in NY that gave "victims" a one year window to sue regardless of when the incident occurred. So, basically, an end around of the statute of limitations. Nothing shady there. And this Ho was instrumental in getting the law passed, and her lawsuit was financed by some big Dem donor. Gee, doesn't sound like anything political going on with this lawsuit, does it? And idiots like @The Real timschochet just eat this sh*t up.
