Chris Christie or anyone with a decent understanding of the law..

Quote

"Being in this country without proper documentation is not a crime," Christie said to more than 60 residents and city officials at local chapter of the Latino Leadership Alliance of New Jersey. "The whole phrase of 'illegal immigrant' connotes that the person, by just being here, is committing a crime."

Being undocumented may be a civil violation, but it's not technically a crime, Christie continued.

"Don't let people make you believe that that's a crime that the U.S. Attorney's Office should be doing something about. It is not," he said.

People are wasting their time on "Crime" / "Not a Crime".  They're here ILLEGALLY... 1 of 2 things should happen.

1) Liberals allow them to live in their homes and they are financially responsible for them until they're self sufficient.

2) They get sent back to where they came from.

I'm ok with this alternative.

For every one person who enters the country illegally, they can automatically become an American citizen, but a liberal MUST BE sent to that immigrants country of origin.  They must stay in that country until the immigrant goes back.

Lol. You and so many others here are living in some kind of dark fantasy. Neither of your options is EVER going to happen. You need to accept that these people are never going to leave and that their numbers are only going to increase over time. Then we can discuss actual policy about what should be done rather than this continual nonsense:

I tend to agree.

Now, might you have some ideas as to who wins and loses in this scenario?

But I’m not a hypocrite. I’m very open about my thoughts about this and I practice what I preach.

You know who is a hypocrite on this subject? Donald Trump. He goes on and on complaining about undocumented immigrants, and yet he used them to build his hotel in Washington. He uses them continually at Mar A Lago and all of his residences. That’s the definition of hypocrisy.

I do, but it’s a complicated question. Overall, I believe America benefits. But not without pain to some.
But the world, which is overall even more important than America, does not benefit by the movement of refugees. We have too many nations that are economically barren, or war torn. Climate is one reason, but the bigger reason, IMO, is the twin poisons of nationalism and socialism. We need more capitalism around the world and there is only way to achieve that: free trade.

The big winner are the people emigrating themselves.  They are not escaping political issues so much as the devastating poverty created by their liberal socialist governments. They come here because they know its the best place on earth, and anyone can succeed here if they work hard, and race and gender wont hold them back.

The next biggest winner are corporations, who will gain access to a large swath of low income resources.

Democrats think they are stacking the deck.  They presume that these people will vote Democrat, and they can suffocate conservatism into non-existence.  They want a totalitarian experience.  Sorta what these people are escaping.  But in truth, these people are more conservative, but mostly because liberals have gone off the rails and radicalized. So in the end this will be counter to their interests.

Who loses?  African Amercians lose, big....and I mean really big.  We are going to see this little game on the part of the Democrats crush the AA community.

A 24 million backlog on Legal immigrant applications?  That’s a neat twist to the immigration problem that you never hear about.

Riddle me this - If a country no longer follows the rule of law, is Government even necessary?

Well the OP kinda mixed things up, but so did Honcho's shiitpost.

Here is the actual law:

1.  Improper entry is a crime.  First offense is a misdemeanor.  Second is a felony.
2.  Unlawful presence is a violation of civil law.  I mean, TECHNICALLY, it is not a crime BUT the punishment is deportation.

Honcho is playing fast and loose with what amounts to a grammar nazi shiitpost. He's jumping on the fact that you said crime but there is no real difference because you get deported either way.

source:  https://www.findlaw.com/legalblogs/criminal-defense/is-illegal-immigration-a-crime-improper-entry-v-unlawful-presence/

Moral of the story is to always assume Honcho is a troll.
