There are farms in almost every state, I've visited them before.  Not much different than how they operated 50 years ago other than the tech provided by liberals.

Preparing for a general election to win POTUS is like a locomotive. It takes a while for the train to ramp up and get to full speed. It also takes a while for that train to slow down and eventually easy to a full stop. 

Given the "thin bench", odds are the DNC and DCCC will aim to just keep Biden there for 2024. If he loses, they can blame him for everything in the next general cycle. Use him as a "sin eater"  If he magically wins against DeSantis ( odds are against it), then he remains their personal human sock puppet to do the bidding of juggernaut corporate American ( Neera Tanden would be essentially running the country day to day, and getting her orders from big corporate interests) 

There are too many inherent advantages in being the "incumbent", even for a disaster zone like Biden, to make a full on switch. 

Also what would the switch be? It could only be Gavin Newsom.

So what is the problem there on a national scale? 

1) Newsom represents the archetype of "white privilege"  Would be hard for Team Blue to salvage that narrative into something else. Also he would need a minority woman as a running mate. But look at the optics with that - Tall white wealthy male who never worked a real job a day in his life, coming from money and legacy in politics, has a minority as his cupbearer. Hard to resolve the anger against the "GOP White Supremacy" with all that chaos going on. 

2) Newsom has been caught ( again ) with sleeping with a staffer. While the MSM has covered it up so far, it won't stay hidden in a national election. The contrast is Casey DeSantis being a cancer survivor. How does that play out? Ron stood by his cancer stricken wife while keeping his state open, while Gavin cheated on his wife ( again) with a staffer ( again) after locking down his state. 

3) Newsom's main power base was "auntie" Nancy Pelosi. She is no longer Speaker Of The House. She might also pass away before 2024. Hakeem Jeffries, Pelosi's handpicked successor, doesn't have the leverage to push Newsom over the top.  The fact that Newsom has been talked up by David Axelrod ( Obama's personal majordomo) and that Susan Rice was just ousted from the White House means there are now three major Team Blue factions. Biden/Harris/Neera Tanden  vs Obama/Newsom/Rice vs The Progressives ( Warren, Sanders, AOC, Squad, etc) 

The DNC is stuck "past the point of no return" here. Changing to Newsom would cost them too many votes that they already can't be sure will go their way like 2020. 

If Biden passes away in the next year or so, then how does the DNC get around not supporting Kamala Harris for POTUS? Even if the majority of America thinks she's a total imbecile, that would risk alienating the black vote. That would savage Team Blue down the ticket. 

Now you can see why Team Blue HQ, the DNC and Tanden so desperately want Trump to run and win the RNC ticket in 2024. He's literally he only Republican they can beat. Without Trump, literally everything else falls apart for the Democrats. 

The only way I see Biden as "out" for 2024, is if he passes away.
