NY is already embattled by Tish James, the legacy of Andrew Cuomo, the failure of Eric Adams and the big fat target on Alvin Bragg's back. 

Just by declaring his candidacy for POTUS, Newsom drags in all kinds of chaos and scandal immediately.  

- COVID19 response, including the nursing homes scandal. Including lockdowns of schools. Including questions on where all that money went from "stimulus", including fraud. This links Newsom to the PG&E fire and his own PlumpJack brand which got multiple "waivers" from lockdowns. 

- Sexual scandal linked to his wife, which goes back to Epstein, which is totally lethal to the DNC. They want none of that Epstein stink on them whatsoever. Because it threatens the Hollywood cash machine to Democrats through Jeffrey Katzenberg. 

- Gun control and gun laws. Firearms are selling at a record pace the last FOUR YEARS STRAIGHT. Each new gun owner is a new advocate for Pro 2A. Lots of women, single mothers, minorities, even LGBT. This is what happens when you Defund The Police. Now let's see how Newsom loses in Middle America over guns. Then loses down the ticket for the rest of the Party apparatus in purple zones over guns. 

You literally bring nothing to the table at all. But it's your free speech. If someone deleted 100 percent of your posts here at the GC, nothing would be lost whatsoever. You're a lazy low value poster. But again it's still your free speech.

You realize this is all opinion and conjecture, right? We are making predictions. Take some deep breaths.

We have had Bill Clinton elected twice to the big job. He humadored an intern in the Oval Office. Trump is going to be the nom. He on video talked about grabbing pussay, that is like probably the 27th least sleazy thing he did that month. He had an army of rednecks attack the Capitol building, they literally beat cops with the American flag.

None of this shet matters if you have the it factor.

It’s very likely that Newsom doesn’t have it, not sure why you are so enraged by all this 😂

Do you see the problem here? 

Newsom had to do what Pelosi wanted him to do. That's how it works and it's how it's always worked. He does what "Aunt" Pelosi says, the woman who nurtured and gave him a political career in the first place. Who has known him and his family since he was born. In exchange, she gives him massive political cover from her power base. 

Locked down schools. Vaccine mandates for kids. Mask mandates. But his own kids kept going to in person learning in expensive private schools. Also the expensive private schools of his big donors, cronies and other "elites" also got waivers too. 

If and when Newsom declares for POTUS 2024, this will ALL enter the national daily media cycle. All of it. 

Again, how will this play out to the critical suburban women voter base across the nation?  That's Newsom's supposed bread and butter zone for the general electorate. Many of those SWV's are mothers. Who had their kids locked out schools. But Newsom's kids got to go and were exempt from lockdowns. Also Newsom's kids get security coverage, paid for with tax dollars as well. So his kids and the children of his biggest donors and cronies get "waivers" and are safer, but not the every day working class person?  Plus, again, he cheated on both of his wives. His first wife is now linked to Donald Trump Jr. She also used to work for Fox News. Do you think that's going to end up well for Newsom during an election run? His second wife is linked negatively to Harvey Weinstein and providing "bagman" coverage against Rose McGowan. How's that going to play to the masses? 

If you don't have a policy record to hold you up ( The guy was recalled and it's not like he was long established as CA Governor when it happened) , then you need to sell "character"  How do you do that as Newsom? 

You'll notice none of the activist radical leftists in this thread can substantively address ANY of the practical future general election issues that I'm raising here. Not a single one of them.

I really don’t like Gavin Newsom. He’s intelligent, I agree with him on most issues, he’d probably make a good President. But there is something so slippery and sleazy about him. I just don’t trust the guy. 

DeSantis is competent but I can’t stand him. I have no idea whether or not his anti-woke obsession is real or contrived but either way it’s nauseating to me. Even so I would have supported DeSantis if He truly could challenge Trump.

I’m not watching this whole thing but generally they’re both doing pretty well I’d say. DeSantis seems to do better in this one on one format, though he still sounds like a whiny muppet. Newsome is very polished but seems to make some rather absurd claims and he needs to move on from COVID already
