Recommended Posts

Christian Watson (hamstring) remained sidelined for Thursday’s practice. ... any risk missing week 1? thoughts?

Have no idea the severity, but missing a Thursday practice is a bad sign.

Two straight DNPs is a real problem. I was strong on him this draft season as he's in 3 of 5 leagues.

I will have to go with N Collins in one league; Dotson in another (not bad at all); and JuJu in the third (that's bad).

Juju is passable, but not ideal

probably consistent WR3 numbers.    But I'd rather have Nico for sure.

Dotson.... hard to say.  he should be better than last year and I think he will be,  but I'd temper expectations.  His team is also a train wreck.

I'd raise expectations. Dotson was the 16th overall pick in '22 out of Penn State - big talent. Last year was 5th in average depth of target. Sam Howell who only started week 18 last year has a cannon for an arm. Now McLaurin has turf toe.  I expect a lot of deep targets to Dotson.

ETA - now that I look it up - in that Week 18 game with Howell starting, Dotson had 4 targets, 3 rec... and 72 yards.  Equating to an insane 24.0 ypr.  Just one game, but illustrates his potential with Howell.

Doesn’t juju have some knee thing?

I love the Dotson talent.  this isnt a slight against him.

I dont believe in Howell.  he may have a cannon but I am not sold on him.    you need to hit the target for the cannon to have value.

True and we'll soon find out if Howell can hit those targets. With a full training camp together I like Dotson's chances. This year his adp was 7th round (theft). I'd bet my mortgage he'll be much higher next year.

Unfortunately I wasn't lucky enough to draft Dotson in any of my leagues.

I will fully admit the sample size I saw with Howell playing against pros was small, but I wasnt impressed.    i have not seen him in pre season so I cannot say if his play has improved.   I fully admit with the small sample size my eye test could have failed me. (it happens sometimes if you catch someone on a bad day)

but I dont deny Dotson's talent is top notch.  it is.

Howell has one of the most accurate deep balls in the NFL.

Not a good sign , I would probably wait and see if he’s a full practice tomorrow, if anything less then a full practice tomorrow, bench him.

Thanks.

Jayden Reed rookie Packers WR is good. He caught a touchdown from Jordan Love in preseason.

One league, I have Kupp and Watson. Yep. That's a solid start!

But you do own KC kicker.

I don't know if he's out, but hamstrings are tricky.  I'd assume he's out until he gets a practice in.

Christian Watson (hamstring) is inactive for Week 3 against the Saints.

Hopefully this is the last week of inactives

Packers play again Thursday.

Packers bye in Week 6... so if he doesn't play Thursday, would they even bother playing him Week 5?

Possibly they are resting both Watson and Jones for the big division showdown with the Lions Thursday night…

Yea if he's healthy.

100% healthy, sure.

90%, 80%... etc.?

I think he'll play Thursday. And then obviously the game after that too. Just look at how Romeo Doubs came back from a hamstring injury.

I hope he plays, I own him on one of my two 14 team leagues.   If he’s playing I’m going to start him.

do you think he'll be limited if he plays?

I think he will be limited and get like 25-30 snaps vs the 60 a starter should get. I have Christian Watson, Romeo Doubs, and Jayden Reed. Starting Doubs this week (unless I can add Thielen or Tank Dell from waivers). Watson could still produce with limited snaps.

He might be limited

if you have good depth at the position, I'd probably wait a week til I start him.

if your depth is lacking maybe you roll the dice.   but it does sound like hes progresssing nicely.

NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reports the team “will be cautious” with Christian Watson’s workload in Week 4 against the Lions.

This should serve as an immediate red flag to fantasy managers who were hoping to roll out Watson in his first game back. The Packers boast the eighth-highest scoring offense in the league through three weeks, and have gotten by just fine without Watson. While his return will bolster the passing game, the 2-1 Packers probably don’t feel much urgency to rush Watson back to action after he spent nearly three full weeks recovering from a hamstring injury. Unless you’re desperate for a spark, Watson may be best left on fantasy benches in Week 4.
