How did we get here?

Recommended Posts

Simple as possible. My understanding of things is pandemic, stimulus payments (which we did appreciate at the time), then inflation adjustments on gas and groceries the likes of which we’ve never seen. Not to mention most people haven’t gotten the extra in pay to account for the difference. Was this just a spot where they said let’s not let a disaster go to waste to reset the price of everyday goods and gas?

Blame the Democrats for shutting down the economy. They knew this was going to happen, and it did. Real shocker, huh?

There was a bagina that opened up really big, big enough to throw a turkey down hallelujah hallway. You saw the light, got smacked on your ass, cried, and have spent the rest of yours life trying to recreate that moment.

Corporate greed is where I def agree. There’s no real reason that a lot of places had to increase prices as much as they have. Including the company I work with. Makes me sick because I have to try to explain it to people all day long, but there really is no justifiable explanation

The federal reserve was created by bankers. They control the printing of money.

If you’re asking how we got here, that’s how.  JFK openly questioned why we had this system at all. Why should private banks do the lending of our money? Dare I say profit? Their profit isn’t good for the rest of us.

Why should a private entity not make money on lending? That's like the 2nd oldest profession.  I'd rather that then the gumbent doing it.

Those same banks setting monetary policy, that's different.

Alright fair enough and good response. Pretty sure we an’t ever go back to prepandemic prices but in your opinion what could possibly help get back to that point?

It's too late. You'll never see pre-Covid economics again. Corporations have dug in.

Thank the Democrats for shutting the World down

Well, the federal reserve, which is private, lends money to the banks. Our money. Why are they involved at all? Like I said, JFK was questioning this system. I would say if they acted independently and weren’t subject to political pressure they might be of use. But I don’t think they are.

The Covid money that went to business was ripe with fraud. You can go on line and see what businesses in your area received. There’s a restaurant/ bar in my town. It’s open 12 hours a day. They claimed they had 49 employees. No Fockin way. It ain’t that big or that busy. 26k per employee. Think they held the line on prices, or had a modest increase? Nope. 16 dollar cheese burgers.

Gotcha, my bad.  I thought you were lending to consumers, not lending to other banks.

My neighbor has an LLC for doing bookeeping for her parents business, she stole $96k.  Her husband is a hot shot lawyer making $500k, kids go to prep school.  Scam.  Thanks Trump.

Yeah, I have to say, the oversight on this was clearly lacking. They’ll get some, but it will be a drop in the bucket. And it has to be one of the easiest cases of fraud on a large scale to get restitution. . Just compare the books prior to Covid and after the Covid aid. Let the ones that took it explain.  Maybe give them an opportunity to come clean and see what happens.
