Fun fact: Yours truly played the best game of his HS Football years against Roosevelt HS. Those kids were future perps back then too.

I've been told in this very forum that black people can't be racist or bigoted.

Thoughts?

I've seen that mentioned multiple times here.

Always by liberals.

It is kind of an urban legend in this forum. People swear somebody said it but never provide the source, a quote or a link to the quote when asked.

Must have been you, as quickly as you dropped in.  ;)

I'm guessing it's something like a poster was arguing that AAs as whole in the country can't be racist against whites because they don't hold any power.  Some crap like that then gets taken from there.

If somebody said blacks can't be bigoted, that's a different level dumb and I would also like to know who said that.

No one would ever be that stupid to say that blacks can't be racist, but that meme keeps getting repeated.

LOL.  I understood your opinion the first time and even replied to that.   I must have been correct with my first sentence as defensive as you are getting.

Never believe anything EternalLiar says.  All he does is talk crap and troll to get a response in his otherwise empty life

But that assertion was made by vile racist idiots.  Where you see this reductive argument arise, that black people cannot be racist, you know right away what you are dealing with an either uneducated twat or an indoctrinated one.....so politely correct them, and when they become violent pull yourself away from the situation.

To be fair, the discussion was if someone HERE posted that opinion.

I have heard it before, maybe from Peenie...like that actual Peenie, not the person she handed that account off too....and she did it behind the weak-arse veil of being "racially aware"

It was and I specified that responding to your earlier post, as I was sure they could find a quote of somebody somewhere in the world who had said this.

He is an indictment on our educational system.  His existence is just another example of a kid emerging from college who cannot read.  They are roughly equitable in their stupidity.

He made restitution only as a result of a lawsuit by the students who were defrauded. He didn't refund any money voluntarily because he felt it was the right thing to do.

Yes he did. It wasn’t court ordered. The lawsuit had not yet been adjudicated.

The restitution was a settlement as a result of the lawsuit. I didn't say it was court ordered. Reading is fundamental.

He voluntarily refunded it. You said he didn’t. Read your own words.

He was forced to reach a settlement as a result of the lawsuit. He wouldn't have done so otherwise. He didn't settle on his own before the suit was filed or after it was threatened. Settling the suit was compelling a payment which I am sure he did not voluntarily or happily give.

But he did. Sorry. Your speculation and wishful thinking don’t override the facts.

What's your point?  Dyson has a PhD from Princeton, and has taught at a lot of places.

Quote

Dyson has taught at Chicago Theological Seminary, Brown University, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Columbia University, DePaul University, and the University of Pennsylvania.[4] From 2007 to 2020, he was a professor of sociology at Georgetown University.[8] In 2021, Dyson moved to Vanderbilt University where he holds the Centennial Chair and serves as University Distinguished Professor of African American and Diaspora Studies in the College of Arts and Science and University Distinguished Professor of Ethics and Society in the Divinity School.[3] Between 2016 and 2018, he was a visiting professor at Middlebury College in Middlebury, Vermont. During his time at Georgetown University, Dyson faced allegations of sexual harassment from a number of students and was investigated by the Title IX office.[9][10]

That name dropping a university or some connection with academia by itself means nothing.

This is hopeful.   Exposing DEI for what it is, Marxism hiding behind a fake veil of morality, needs to be a steady drum beat

I might be inclined to debate it were it not for BLM declaring themselves marxists and pointing to DEI as a core tenent.  But moreover, everything around this perverse movement is Marxism....not "pure" Marxism mind you.

Original marxism is acutely class-focused, modern marxists refer to that original version as "dirty" marxism ( or vulgar marxism).....because it does not include intersectionality.

DEI marxism includes both, so the modern marxists consider themselves more complete. But they also understand that there is a negative connotation around "marxism" so they hide their actual intent behind virtuous-sounding monikers, knowing that people are easily manipulated

It was just one of the founders who said that in an interview, the BLM organization has never declared itself Marxist.
