They always estimate a "jobs report number". Then they report a "jobs report number".   Then the stock market tanks for one day if it's "one job under what they estimated."   Then the market surges the next day on buying opportunities.  Wash. Rinse.  And Repeat.   Oh and then they release a "revised jobs report number" after the fact. Saying the original number was wrong.   Both parties do it.  The stock market is a scam unless you want to play their game.

Big Lots could potentially close 315 stores

Quote

Up to 315 of discount retailer Big Lots’ locations could be on the chopping block and facing potential closure, a Securities & Exchange Commission filing from Friday indicated.

The company disclosed in the filing that it had upped the number of permitted store closings to a maximum of 315 as part of late July amendments to a credit agreement and term loan facility. That marked a 165-store increase from the 150 closings previously permitted.

I think there is merit in these assertions.

Moreover, I think we have to wait for a couple of months for the later revisions to the reports.  The first report is rarely true.

Every single one around me already closing up shop.  I'm moving out of the blue death city/state too. Don't blame them one bit.

I didn't even know Big Lots was still a thing.  Not sure the last time I saw one.

Paramount Global to lay off 15% of its US workforce

Creepy joe's America. All those jobs that he "created", you know, the ones that were rebound jobs (after when biden paid people tax payer dollars  to stay home instead of working for 2 years) after the chinese flu , are now going away for good. Creepy joe and kameltoe are both in hiding now. Because they don't want people to see who the fock is running for president. They know their limitations and are refusing to talk about their run for the office because they know they are clowns.

I like the second lady who said she doesn’t want to be "some man’s object". I don’t think she has anything to worry about.

I know that is what the media mouthpieces are saying, but I have to impress that this is not true.  They are lying to you.

I don’t need anyone to tell me that  10% tax on all imports will devastate the economy. I can figure that out for myself. How any economic conservative could be in favor of this astounds me.

All imports? I can’t find that quote. Can you point me in the right direction? Thanks.

No idea why you keep doubting this but here is Trump at the debate discussing it:

Maybe you ought to listen to it? He’s talking about the countries that are ripping us off. You lose. Now stop saying it. Thanks.

No. He said 10% on ALL imports. ALL. Watch it again. Or Google the question.

I watched it. He immediately makes it clear he’s talking about the countries that are ripping us off. Why would he bring that up if it were all countries? Why do you people have to continually twist and misrepresent what he says if he’s so horrible? Stop being such a dishonest actor.

Ok. Most of these people probably sit at a desk all day and do mostly nothing.  Since we sit at a desk all day (post on here) and do mostly nothing, maybe we are next.

Low-intelligence voters will buy it, though.  It's joyful!

Just from a practical standpoint, how would that possibly work?  Would we have a Dairy Czar, Meat Czar, Packaged Shiot That's Terrible For You Czar?  And these czars determine an acceptable price for tens of thousands of goods?  Just think of milk, and all of the exceptions:  fat content, organic, grass-fed.  How much more should milk from a grass-fed cow cost?

The answer to my question of how it would work, and there really is only one way, is... government-run grocery stores.
