Me too. 16 is 2 TDs but the challenge is to nail the conversions. 13 is pretty much a given 7+7 beats it.

Won’t matter in hindsight but that basically meant Philly needed fast stops and 2 TDs + 2 point conversions on consecutive drives.

That team seemed incredible most of the year, but it may have been smoke and mirrors as a lot of those wins on the way to 10-1 were Houdini acts and we were blinded to it because they won the NFC last year. 

I don't really know what to make of them but they collapsed and have issues to sort out.

You gotta stop with this. From 2001-2006 Brady threw for 4K once and never had 30 td’s. Meanwhile the defense was at the top of the league. They won 3 SB’s during that.

Now do Bill's stats from 2020 - 2023 when he didn't have a QB that threw 30 TDs once.

As I asked what did Particia do without Brady?  Same for O'Brian, Josh, etc.

If they are all so great why are they unable to produce without Brady?  It is a very simple question.

It’s fine to state all that. It’s true. But you can’t discount the first half of the Patriots success. The first three were more about defense and running the ball. You think Drew Bledsoe couldn’t have won that first one ?

I don't know.  Bledsoe had a whole lot of INTs in his career.  I agree those SB wins were based on defense and running the ball.  It is a lot easier to do that when your QB doesn't turn the ball over.

Well, Bledsoe came off the bench and won the AFC championship on the road that year in Pittsburgh. I think he could have gone for 145 and 1 like Brady did in the SB. It’s one thing to say that Brady is the main reason for the Pats success. It’s true. But it was a really long journey and Brady wasn’t always the reason they won.  Sometimes he wasn’t even the best QB on the field when they did.

I was clamoring for Bledsoe to get his job back. TB12 was not that good folks. He sure became great, but in 2001 he was average at best. I could argue Vinatieri deserves more credit than TB12 for their 1st couple SBs

Little better than that. He had some short passes to J.R. Redmond (who?) and a HUGE one to Troy Brown and don't forget Wiggy. Not sure they ran it once?

50ish of his 145 passing yards   came on the final drive

2nd greatest sports victory of my life (1st until the Sox won a few years later)
