Rachel Maddow defends MSNBC's refusal to air Trump's Iowa victory speech

Recommended Posts

Time to start filming closed door, edited biden speeches to play instead of Trump. But continue to trash Trump's name on a daily basis.

How very North Korean of the liberals.

Unreal. Miss Russia Hoax, Covid misinformation and Trumps taxes says she won’t allow Trump to broadcast his mistruths. As she lies and says Trump is making it about immigrants, of course leaving out the illegal part. Complete hack. But she went to Oxford!

She explained that MSNBC and other news outlets are interested in telling the truth.

"The reason I’m saying this is, of course, there is a reason that we and other news organizations have generally stopped giving an unfiltered, live platform to remarks by former President Trump," Maddow said. "It is not out of spite, it is not a decision that we relish, it is a decision that we regularly revisit. And, honestly, earnestly, it is not an easy decision."

She went on to claim that airing Trump's "untrue" statements live on television hurts MSNBC's brand. "But there is a cost to us, as a news organization," Maddow said, "of knowingly broadcasting untrue things. That is a fundamental truth of our business and who we are. And so, his remarks, tonight, will not air here live. We will monitor them and let you know about any news that he makes."

I for one appreciate MSNBC filtering what is happening so that I don't have to think too hard for myself.  They may want to stop calling themselves "News" and go with the more truthful "Partisan Censored Information Feed" but otherwise I am good here.

I trust they will start simply summarizing what Karin Jean-Pierre meant to say rather than broadcasting what she did say when she says the administration never said or did what there is film of them saying and doing.

I remember as a kid reading about Pravda and the shitt they were doing and being mortified.  Now it is commonplace in the liberal media in the USA.  Goes to show you just how quickly and surreptitiously a country can be taken over by the Left.  Time for the tree of Liberty to be watered.

Don’t bother with SquidTard.  He isn’t ignorant of the facts.  You won’t enlighten him to the errors of his ways.  He’s a hardcore Leftist, and it isn’t freedom or the truth he is after.  He wants things done his way, and in his worldview the ends always justify the means.  Which basically means he wants you and your ideas suppressed, or better yet, destroyed.

This isn’t defensible, imo.

If you’re concerned about all the crazy ass lies coming of Trump’s mouth (and there are many), then you deal with that through “fact checking” and/or commentary. It is admittedly less than ideal but to just refuse to air a newsworthy event is by far the worse option

Of course. With all the lies he tells in every speech; it essentially amounts to airing Trump's propaganda and affects their credibility as a news organization (you can't fact check in real time unless you use a screen crawl at the bottom and by then it is too late for most viewers).

Hopefully, the Trump FCC takes Deep State run media like MSNBC off the air and let’s real journalists like James O’Keefe fill that void.

O’keefe puts in the actual work and gets results. The rest of them exchange texts with their anonymous “sources” while they sit in their pajamas. That’s why they hate o’keefe.

It's surreal that they are flat out admitting it. They feel empowered enough.to finally take their masks off and just admit they are running on a one party socialist state  campaign. They want a dictatorship in the end.

No, but if I see Daniel Dale did it for CNN, I'll post it here for you when I find it. 😁

Right about what?
Im not a huge fan of Rachel. I can take her or leave her. She's not a deliberate liar IMO, but she’s heavily biased. She’s no journalist.

MSNBC’s on-air personalities are mostly opinion makers and not journalists. There are some exceptions- I would label Andrea Mitchell a journalist for example. But mostly they discuss the news in a manner consistent with the perspective of their core base, which is liberal. I’ve never claimed otherwise. But I don’t believe they deliberately lie and the news that is reported is accurate and can be trusted. I think the same is largely true for Fox News.
