Send them back to Martha’s Vineyard.

Massachusetts governor opens migrant shelter in Boston rec center because "we really don't have a choice"

ROXBURY - A new temporary, but controversial, overflow shelter site for migrants in Massachusetts opened Wednesday at the Melnea Cass Recreational Complex in Roxbury.

Governor Maura Healey and Boston Mayor Michelle Wu toured the new setup of 400 beds before the official opening as some angry neighbors protested outside. They're furious that the center has to close to the community, even temporarily.

"We're here today because we really don't have a choice," said Healey, who added that migrants are being housed in about 90 communities across Massachusetts.

The state reached its limit of 7,500 families in the emergency shelter system back in November. Since then, families have been put on a wait list, which continues to grow. Healey said the state is working to get families out of emergency housing and helping them find work and more permanent housing but called it a "work in progress." After seeing dozens of families sleeping on the floor of Terminal E at Logan Airport, she said something had to be done.

"We need to make sure we have a place for people to go safely," said Healey.

Sure it is. Meanwhile hotels in NYC are still not being paid for housing the illegals.

Great planning this whole thing out creepy joe. While they are still flooding in to the tune of 300,000 a month.

Long before the Republican started sending illegal north, the Biden administration was sending plane loads all over the country. What’s the difference.?

Why do you think the borders States should deal with a national problem alone? These illegals came here with a predetermined destination that is where they are being sent.

There are 11 sanctuary states, that’s where they should go. Nine of those 11 states declared sanctuary status during the Trump administration. Their virtue signaling has caught up with them and they were not prepared. They asked for it, and now they’ve got it.

Be great if we had a government that cared about this country, neither parties do.

Massachusetts governor opens migrant shelter in Boston rec center because "we really don't have a choice"

Governor Maura Healey and Boston Mayor Michelle Wu toured the new setup of 400 beds before the official opening as some angry neighbors protested outside. They're furious that the center has to close to the community, even temporarily.

Of course they have a choice, they just don't like thier other choices.   Maybe they should close down the Garden.  What is more important, basketball and hockey or the welfare of these innocent refugees fleeing oppression and so anxious to make America a better place?  As I understand it as soon as they cross the border they increase our GDP.  Those benefits certainly are more important to a community than having professional sports. They make us stronger as a nation, and of course some Cities and States extended an invitation so we ought to do all we can to welcome them.  Why take away a taxpayer amenity meant for the working class?  Is it that they have no power?  Why not take away an amenity of the rich and famous, the image makers and decision makers who sent out the invitation?

How did I know it was going to be Roxbury? Liberals have zero shame and now the black community is finding out. Funny when they are pandering they are referred to as “ vulnerable” communities.  Why would you put added burdens on the vulnerable and not on the donors, I mean stable communities?

Don't know why they're complaining.  93% of black people vote Democrat religiously.  This is what they voted for. Literally.  It's not as if the Democrat Party was hiding this.

7500 migrant families housed in Massachusetts. How many homeless veterans are on the streets. This country has a broken moral compass that is beyond repair.

This is exactly why I don't listen to the plight of the black community.  They're the most negatively impacted from liberal policies, yet continue to vote for liberals.  :dunno:

Don't bring your logical and common sensical arguments to a cryfest.  Liberals don't like that.

After deriding Christianity in between elections, those same liberals will hit the black churches and shuck and jive for votes. And spread the money around.
