Good call.  I had forgotten about the donations I've made the past couple years.  I'm definitely in.

Ha. Come to NYC and say squares. You’ll be looked as a phag. Not that there is anything wrong with that.

since 2003, at least 12, probably more. 3 that lasted 5 years each.

I really struggled finding decent work in IT after 9/11 thanks to George Bush blowing up the towers.

Yet another example of why the rest of New York State would be better off without NYC.  😘

I've had one since 2002. Maybe you just suck at your work. :dunno:

Thanks George Bush.

Nobody did that retard.:dunno:

Gekko did all the "research" for us.  It probably wasn't hard when you cry to other grown asss men on the internet about all your life failures. Having multiple aliases across multiple message boards being a total asss wipe one day and crying about being broke and handicapped the next to the same people?  That's got to be manic depressive mixed in with some psychosis or something.

Odd that when I lived in NY I never heard anyone call it boxes, though.

Maybe it's like the "soda" vs "pop" thing? In my part of NY (Binghamton) everyone says soda.  My wife is from Rochester and there they says pop.  :dunno:

I have been doing fine since 2004.  from Sept 11, 2001 thru 2003, was tough sledding.  Even moved to Florida (miami) for a few months and that was even worse.

My wife is from Buffalo and she says boxes and soda.

I thought “pop” was a southern thing. My relatives from Maryland said “pop”. My grandfather always labeled them as southern trash.

Your wife is a good woman for saying soda, but she's in the minority in Western NY.

The only time I say pop is when it is a balloon. Soda is what it is called.

Some townies in Bahstahn called it "tonic" when I was there.  Do you ever hear that?

Interesting.  Seems like it is a thing, or was anyway:

Recently, Michael Rock told us about some SouthCoast words and phrases that might not translate well to people not from around here.

Words aren’t just regional, though. They’re also generational. There are some words our parents or grandparents used that have just fallen out of favor over the years, and to me, none stands out more than “tonic.”

My parents both came from Randolph, Massachusetts, just outside of Boston. Apparently, it’s a very Boston-area thing to refer to soda as “tonic.” I remember my mother’s parents referring to all soda as “tonic” growing up but having no idea exactly why they would call it that.

Does anyone still say tonic?
Dining/Food/Drink 🍽️🍹
The 128 post got me thinking. When I was a kid, soft drinks were called tonic. Stores would advertise it as tonic, the weatherman would call it tonic. Some people called it soda, but my friends and I would make fun of them. In the course of about 30 years, I’d say the term has died off. I still try to say it, but it sometimes feels like I’m forcing it because no one else says it. Anyone else?

Above is from Reddit, link problems.

Lots of other examples:  https://www.google.com/search?q=do+they+call+soda+tonic+in+south+boston%3F&oq=do&gs_lcrp=EgZjaHJvbWUqCAgBEEUYJxg7MgYIABBFGDwyCAgBEEUYJxg7MggIAhBFGCcYOzIGCAMQRRg5MhAIBBAuGMcBGLEDGNEDGIAEMgYIBRBFGDwyBggGEEUYPDIGCAcQRRhB0gEIMzU5NWowajSoAgCwAgA&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8#ip=1

Maybe some of our southeast geeks can tell you; I've wondered how this works myself.  Maybe people say "Coca Cola" if they specifically want a Coke? :dunno:

We called it "tonic" when I was a kid, but that's died off. It's just "soda" now.

And it's not "Bahstahn", it's "Bawwstihn"
