Hardcore troubadour 15,432 Posted March 6, 2024 So the democrats are going to have to defend a senate seat for the first time since 1988 in California. Garvey did this without spending much money and no tv commercials. The fact they have to fight this out says a lot.
KSB2424 3,148 Posted March 6, 2024 Wait, I am admittedly way out of touch with California state politics, but I am an old baseball fan. When you say Steve Garvey, do we mean Dodger First Baseman Steve Garvey?

OldMaid 2,130 Posted March 6, 2024 Heard that Schiff paid a lot of $$$ to elevate him due to the way that the primaries work here. I think he was afraid of Katie Porter/Barbara Lee. Basically, the top two vote getters move on regardless of party. So, no… it doesn’t say anything other than the Dems gamed the system.
RaiderHaters Revenge 4,350 Posted March 6, 2024 so looks like hes moving on. The vote will be right after the Dodgers win the world series, I wonder if that helps him
weepaws 3,192 Posted March 6, 2024 Garvey, Lopes, Cey, Russell, Yeager, R Smith, R Monday, D Baker, those days were fun times. Ps Manny Mota.

I don’t know why the democrats game the system for the shittiest candidates. If you’re gonna do it, do it for someone competent. . They should have just ran Hillary again and pulled all their tricks for her. We would be a lot better off. Yeah she’s evil, but she’s not pathetic like Biden. She would have won too and I guarantee this shitt at the border wouldn’t be happening. She would have told Obama to piss off.

The Democrat party is a fascist party. Schiff is one of the biggest fascists in Congress so he gets elevated. Tree of Knowledge 1,859 Posted March 6, 2024 So basically pencil neck and bug-eyed Schiff is a lying racist and misogynistic pedophile. Seems on brand for the Republic of Kalifornia. Garvey has a formidable challenge trying to defeat Sauron in Mordor.

The commercials they had against Garvey made me laugh. They were basically: "Garvey voted for Trump! TWICE!!!!" and "He's TOO conservative for CA." I was kind of like, "That's ALL you have?" Nothing about policies? Nothing about how he voted on SB47? Nothin'? Usually they give more detailed things on why the person would be bad to vote for....but that's all the commercials say.

Garvey doesn't stand a chance of winning in November. Schiff had a popular Democratic opponent (Tim supported her) and those votes should pretty much all go to Schiff. Which is too bad, because Schiff has a pretty terrible voting record if people actually cared about policy and read stuff about him. But they don't. They just hear that the other guy voted for Trump and freak out.

As a Democrat I have no problem with his voting record nor about him personally from "the stuff" I've read about him.

I am glad that you're comfortable voting for him.
