Yeah, I researched the odd failed attempts to acquire Greenland. It's not like Greenland wants to be part of Denmark, yet only 55,000 people live there, which is kind of crazy seeing as landwise it's about the fourth the size of the United States.

Here's my concern about the US using military force. I lived & watched the revolution of 79. I was 13 so I remember well. Gun shots at night, kerosine lamps, food lines & shortage, ect. These mullahs couldn't care less about the people. I fear if the much hated US goes in, it will become even worse for those poor people. I think sanctions is the way to go.

Btw, it is true. No internet. My cousin was posting on IG stories somehow up to a couple days ago. Now the fear for my family even though they never go protest is real now. to the good people of Iran.

Hey there.  Hope you're doing well.  I know this issue is near and dear to you.  I don't know what the answer is but we've tried sanctions for decades I think.  And maybe that's still the answer.  I know a lot of countries have circumvented them so maybe we just need better enforcement.  And military engagement is never good.   I just hope for the GOOD people of Iran some type of solution is reached and they come out of it better on the other side.

Hey! Hope all is well with you, too. I hope they better enforce the sanctions. I just can't believe that it seemed easier to oust the Shah's regime back then but is harder for this one. I was 13 so that was my perspective. Nothing worse than feeling helpless by not having any communication with fam. Kinda wish I was there. Survivor's guilt maybe. My mom, bro & I got out through the contacts my aunt had. 1 suitcase each. They didn't let my dad go. Memories of crying seeing my dad held back never leaves me. He got out through the underground network 3 months later thankfully. Thanks for responding.

The moment/opportunity to kick the house of cards down may have come and gone. The mullahs in Iran are among the most evil scumbags on the planet, so I certainly would support regime change if it could be done on the cheap through air strikes. Ah, but I don't know that I want to climb out on that limb. Unfortunately there's no way of knowing in advance if that result is possible. Things could go wrong in a thousand different ways. There could be a failed state with 90 million refugees. Worse, the US could be bogged down patrolling the place.

One thing I know is that I wouldn't want US boots on the ground. Dealing with Venezuela is about as much ambitious foreign adventures as I can handle right now.

Learning lessons from Iraq apply to both situations, you just don't know what chaos would unfold.  It looks like the decision was/will be that a de-fanged Iran may be acceptable.
