I mean there are some douchey hacks here on the right and left but man you just decide to try and take the cake every single time.  Also, the whole comment is rich coming from the poster who wished rape on another poster's kid. Again I'll ask- what insider information do you have about the case that was going to be presented? Was it a complete slam dunk? Plea deals don't come out of nowhere.

Except one minor detail:  A family benefactor of the Bidens raped his two year old child and admitted it and received no prison time. The AG that approved that sentence was Beau Biden.  And Mooney is in here making excuses for it.

I read it too. I read what Beau Biden said in making the deal. I read the details of the case. You seem to think the case was 100% cut and dry and they were definitely going to win. I'm asking- what information you have that proves that. It's a simple request.

It isn't saying the guy was right for doing it. It isn't saying the deal was right (but of course I don't know details of what the argument would be). It isn't excusing child rape or whatever else you want it to be doing. But you are so desperate to win you have to paint it that way. And yet again- you are also the same guy who wished rape on somebody's kid because you disagreed with them on a message board. Maybe you aren't the one to be playing judge and jury.

The 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals (which covers Florida) has deemed reassignment appropriate “where the trial judge has engaged in conduct that gives rise to the appearance of impropriety or a lack of impartiality in the mind of a reasonable member of the public.” On its face, one might think from that language that Cannon shouldn’t be on the case. But she is on it — and might stay on it — because it’s not that simple.

As to your original question:  I don't know enough of the details to say if either should recuse himself, particularly about the case(s) themselves.  

I will say two things in general:

1. If a judge were to have some prejudice, it should err on the side of the defendant.

2. It is much easier to replace a trial judge than a SCOTUS justice.

For a trial judge, there is the appeal process.  There is not appeal for SCOTUS, but that is why we have multiple.

I would have been fine with Merchan getting replaced, likely wouldn't have mattered anyway.  It's just something for Trump to cry about.  Now Cannon refusing to bring the documents case, that's a bit more egregious, her actions that is.

I do think that having a scotus whose wife supported Jan 6 and another scotus flying flags supporting Trump is more egregious than donating $40 to a campaign 8 years ago.

Not sure why you mentioned the 8 years; we prosecute presidential candidates for misdemeanors from that time.
