I’d go on that Biden was very unpopular and was openly having Dems tell him to step down. That’s very unusual, no? There’s this new thing now, the party heads are in lockstep. A shetload of money poured in. The Sean Hannity’s of the world are filling their diapers. That’s what I mean when I say “momentum”.

We’ll see how it plays out but I’d def say there is some new found energy.

While it is true Kelly or Shapiro might help in one of their states, the problem is unless she gets GA back, she either has to win AZ or sweep all 3 of the rust belt states.  I don't think she will be foolish enough to take Cooper and try for NC.  Maybe she sets the world on fire and becomes the next Obama, but I don't see that yet.  There is definitely excitement behind her, but the excitement over her being named is the easy part, maintaining it is the heavier lift.  She's getting the "anybody but these two" bump for now.

I agree for the most part with the second paragraph, wrote something similar upthread. She def has a better chance than Biden did at this time, but we’ll see if she can carry this momentum.

Here’s your chance to tell me how it works since I was asking. I don’t recall seeing these on the board at MGM.

Where are they made? Who is making them? That plays into how these lines are set and how they move. I’d think polls are more indicative than these betting markets but I could be convinced otherwise.

If the donations were withheld and now they are given that is momentum again. The money was not going to be given and now it is. You see that right?

I think she could win Georgia. The key is if she can re-energize the Stacy Abrams black vote that caused Georgia to go blue in 2020- that’s what’s been lacking for Biden in 2024. Harris could get that back…maybe.

Maybe it has already been said, but the interesting part of this all is how Biden acts/does in coming months.  Whats thr play?  Expose him a bit to show how fragile he is in order to justify?  Or he goes strong trying to prove he and Kamala were strong in what they were/were not doing?  Could be a fine line with some voters.

Though the California bar was and i understand is, marginally more difficult to pass the reason for the low pass rate is that California allowed, and still allows to my understanding, persons from unaccredited law schools to take the exam.  They lower the pass rate, or at least they use to.

This is true. And even then you’ve got the Democratic Convention which means a bump for Kamala. Post Labor Day is when we will have a true sense of the race (actually this has generally always been the case.)

I wrote this on May 6 and I think a lot of it remains true for both sides. But there are some changes, most of which help Kamala:

2. Students are more likely to vote for her than they would have for Biden. 
3. Kamala will represent a positive that people will vote FOR rather than just vote against Trump. This is the biggest surprise for me, as late as Monday afternoon I didn’t anticipate it. 
 

On the minus side for Kamala: 

1. Inflation has to continue to improve. If people don’t feel the economy is getting better none of this will likely matter. Perception on this one issue remains the key ingredient for this election, IMO. 
2. She’s going to get hammered on immigration. She needs to have a good answer. If she doesn’t she will lose in the places she needs to win.
