I certainly have questions about the defense strategy.  My guess is that Trump insisted they focused on his claim of innocence.

That being said, I believe that the defense tried to bring in the Federal Elections Commission chair to testify that they thought it was a nothingburger, but the judge wouldn't let them.  Also, the prosecution didn't even argue for election interference until their closing.

And the specific rationale isn’t entirely necessary; as long as it’s made clear he falsified the business records and there was A reason, it doesn’t matter too much what it was. I've already said my peace in the trial thread regarding the "he only sorta kinda had to do something that might have broken some unnamed law", so I won't rehash it in detail here.  But I'll say it needed to be a law, not a "reason," and it should matter too much what it was.

Well, Biden has solidly focked us in terms of international position, but on the bright side I am making nice money from it. The last trip I just took was a little concerning....looks like the US expects us to fight China in the next 10 years and thinks it will be mostly naval, and perhaps mostly subs, but our ship production situation is absolute sh!t....so we should expect to see just gobs of money being thrown at ship yards.....where I can make some money....
