There's a reason there are guard towers and dudes with rifles in them as you head down the highway to pull into them.  That was something I remember from my time there.  Given that they felt it was needed, I was appreciative of them being there.

Puerto Penasco (aka Rocky Point) is on the tip of the Sea of Cortez, and is the closest ocean to Phoenix (about 4 hour drive).  As such it became a hooge vacation resort for our city.  While there are guards patrolling it, I'd say they were more to protect against drunk teens/college kids getting into trouble.  My understand was that, since the city made so much money on us, the authorities let the bad guys know that if they caused any trouble which risked the reputation of the place, they would not like the consequences (I'm not talking drug lords, just thieves etc.).  I never felt at risk...

... that is, until my daughter's friend got stung by a stingray and I took her to the hospital, which was in the "local" part of town, much deeper than I had ever gone.

Once we got into the waiting room, though, I must say:  if you think there is white privilege in the US, you haven't seen anything until you see the priority white people have in a poor Mexican town which caters to white people.  The stingray sting was more precaution than anything; if it were my own kid, I'd have had them rub some dirt on it.  Meanwhile there were people in there bleeding all over the place, and looking like they were deathly ill.  Didn't matter, the doc came out, saw us, and waved the girl right in (the scariest part was, although the doc spoke no English, she stopped me from going in and was quite insistent.  I had to make the snap call that this was a legit hospital and they wouldn't take her kidney or something.)

Which left me sitting there among the severely injured and sickly, appreciating my station in life.

Afterward, kidney in tact, we went to the pharmacy where I learned first hand just how incredibly cheap drugs are there.  I see why so many people go to Mexico for meds now.  Seems they are doing something right there.

If she's a globalist (!) you can kiss those days goodbye.  It happened is the West and it follows the stink of globalism.  Anti-West.

37 candidates for office were assassinated in the run up to this last election in Mexico. She wasn’t. The cartels are in charge, not her.

Sheinbaum doesn’t sound Mexican to me

Fun Fact:

Many Latino surnames have a European or non-Spanish origin.

Enough that it doesn't raise any eyebrows.

Trump picked the fight with them.  It's never wrong to stand up to a bully.

The Mexican President is responsible for the invasion of The United States of America. She's lucky that Trump didn't declare war, which he could of.
