January 6th was a nothingburger in the grand scheme of things.  It was just a single protest that got out of control because of a security breech that overwhelmed the capitol police. It wasn't any sort of insurrection no matter what the Democrats would have you believe. You don't start an insurrection without a plan, let alone guns. Also, notice none of the priceless art got vandalized as would happen of your contemptuous America-hating people had been the ones inside. Your mobs are the ones who burn down sh*t.

Fireworks are exponentially cooler at night. That's the time to light them and an open field is the place. They're just not taking the drought into consideration. A crew of out of town kids causing a commotion while being drunk and stoned isn't something the police there want to deal with.

Good story though. Just like a lot of good stories involve alcohol and stupidity.

A very sizable group of people showing contempt for the American electoral process and being egged on by the outgoing President is not a "nothingburger." Yes I know BLM protests, and the current campus protests. I'm not going to pretend I like those either. But I'm not willing to handwave away January 6th just because and pretend like it was nothing.

I was expecting it, but...my little brother was involved and he got away with everything. So when we got back and our Dad returned home from work that day, I know I'm going to catch one, but little brother went up to Dad and said "Honcho and I didn't know they brought alcohol and pot, and I tried a little but I didn't like it.  I'm sorry I lit off the fireworks.  

And that was it.  The blind spot my Dad had to my little brother was insane.  Here's another story about that. I started working at 13 years old, so that I could buy my own car at 16 and did exactly that. My brother never worked and just would use my Dad's car.  One night my dad comes into my room with a baggie of pot and asks me "Did you leave this in my car?" I told him no, pretty sure he didn't believe me and he never questioned my brother who drove his car every night...usually to go to his pot dealer's house.
