There was a “net increase of murders in 2022 vs 2021 of 1,699” but an overall DECREASE in murders in 2021+2022 of 449.   This is because 2021 decreased by 1074, and 2022 increased by 625.

Yes, that is a big change in murders which is unusual for the FBI reporting.  But the overall change in crime rate was in line with previous adjustments.

For the most part I wasn’t even really commenting on the accuracy of the data, just commenting on the impact the changes had to the data, and pointing out that many on the right are lying about it.

 Crime is down significantly due to the ability of young people able to make money without having to hit people over the head or sell drugs. They have gig jobs and can make money legitimately through social media.

 Wait? You don’t understand that the reason ICE exists is because for-profit jails are no longer being filled? They need to put somebody in them. You see, the police are unable to just lie on people as they used to do. Now that cameras are everywhere; including on the police and an electronic footprint can record your steps, corrupt people are less able to pin crimes on the innocent. 

People are still evil, committing crimes, yes, but overall times have changed.
