So you are just parroting a public news article on this site. What is the point of posting this? Next you'll be posting player stats that anyone can just look up themselves if they cared.

I can pretty much get it from the website.  Reposting on a lightly trafficked message board doesn't exactly make it public. Lol

I am saying you know nothing about firearms, and yes, most things you idiots qualify as "mass shootings" occur with a handgun

caliber is what matters, the ability to conceal is also what matters, you can't hide an AR

again, you guys don't ever want to discuss actual statistics, just AR is scarier looking!!!!

Even if handguns are used more often that doesn’t mean they’re more effective at doing so.  I agree that the ability to conceal is one factor contributing to that.

The definition of “mass shooting” depends who you ask however.  It usually doesn’t require the victims to have died, so again if handguns are used more often that doesn’t mean they’re more effective at killing more people.

If we’re talking about “mass murder” there is evidence it is more often committed with AR-style guns.  For example here is a quote from an article @Strike previously provided.  Thanks @Strike!

“In the last three years, 67% of gun massacres with six or more deaths were with assault weapons, Klarevas' 2020 report said.”

are we moving the goalposts, you guys moved it to 4 a few years back to inflate your numbers

also there is no such thing as an assault weapon, or all guns are assault weapons

Well if handguns are better shouldn’t they still be used more often regardless?

Yes and they are

You can't convince a liberal of the truth simply by pointing out the truth. It needs to go through the liberal commission approval process before they allow it to register. And in the end, the truth doesn't ever get through. So good luck with that dude.

So what is a bigger problem in the US, a few shootings of 6 or more, or many many shootings of less than 6?

You might want to educate yourself on guns in general.  Not trying to be a d1ck. Just saying.

So you disagree with the link @Strike provided?

I know @Engorgeous George has previously provided a decent argument for a shotgun being the best gun to shoot into a crowd.  But a handgun? C’mon

Nope. Not disagreeing with the link Strike provided since I haven't read it.
As far as a shotgun for most kills if one wanted to do that?  Well, of course.

A handgun is much more effective vs a rifle in close "combat" .

When you read numbers like 15 shot 1 dead, you can bet it is probably a handgun.

Is there an example of double digits shot and one or fewer fatalities with an AR15?

For “close combat,” sure, what about for killing as many people as possible?

Oof, you’re repeating peefoam arguments now, you may want to take a break.

That is moving the goalposts.  Yes, most homicides that occur are the result of gang violence and often use illegal guns.  So the solution is going to be much more complicated.

But many school shootings and such use legally obtained guns.  So just adding a bit more stringency to background checks and possibly limiting certain types of guns may be able to reduce those kinds of shootings or at least the number of people killed in them.

Here

no. I’m just using liberal statistics. Sorry that bothers you. I would have never counted drive by shootings in mass shooting incidents

they do that so they can push a narrative so once again I’ll go back to my original answer of

NO

Asked and answered.  Also funny that you were whining earlier about the definition of mass shooting being expanded yet according to this link it was actually decreased from 4 to 3.  This link was actually offered by @Strike in the same post where he linked the article the below quote is from.  But it’s going all the way back to 1982 when the prevalence of AR-15’s and similar has been more recent, only counts number of incidents not number of deaths, and doesn’t include the Las Vegas shooting.

Would you rather get shot at 30 yards by a Glock 22 or a 556 rifle?

Does it matter? I'm putting on a kill shot at 30 yards with any caliber weapon.

And a Glock 22 is a 40 caliber. Do you mean a Glock 44? That's a 22 cal.

Obviously handguns are the bigger overall problem here in America.

Multiple things can be true.

As of this moment, Mike Bouchard still hasn't released any details about Michael William Nash other than he's a 42-year old white loner who lived with his mother and suffered with mental health problems and killed himself.
