Everyone who graduates college gets a green card

I think its a great proposal, people who come to school here legally get degrees can get green cards, zero issue, they contribute, unlike the 10 million illegals you want let in here that contribute nothing

I think it's terrible, These people should go back to their country to improve it. 1. It's a huge brain drain on the rest of the world.

and I have several proposals for that as well, nobody wants actual solutions

I just follow the system in place.

But you acknowledge that they contribute, right?  If they didn't contribute then you wouldn't hire them.

they dont contribute to society as a whole, no

also whatever you are talking about has nothing to do with the proposal presented

Do you contribute to society as a whole?

I tend to agree, but wouldn't a green card mean they are paying taxes and giving them a chance to start a permanent residence here, I think this is what we want, qualified people filling jobs that are needed?

Yes, I think.  I'm just saying you don't start with a green card.

What I'd like to see is starting with certain focus areas.  Say, medical professionals (doctors/nurses/PAs/radiation techs/etc.) or something else of which we have a shortage.

Canada's immigration policy is very much based on this -- they only let in such people.

Wouldn't it better and cheaper to educate Americans that are already here? Instead of socializing immigrant education why don't we do it with our own citizens?

yes I pay taxes

Is that the bar for contributing to society?

Anyway many illegals do contribute to society, pay taxes, pay for housing, buy stuff, donate their time and skills to their communities, etc.  The fact that you hire them means they contribute, or you wouldn't hire them.

its anyone who applies to a college, gets accepted on a school visa, then finishes college can then use that degree to work here

I am completely ok with that whether its liberal or conservative suggesting it

I hire them cause there are no americans who will do the job, It doesn't mean they contribute to this country, as a matter of fact I know most the money they make goes back to mexico.  I don't have an issue with it, cause its how things are setup,  Unlike Tim, I want a more comprehensive solution, a place I could go and get short term work visas with migrant workers who are documented

Wasn’t Donald proposing free online college a bit ago as well?

I will get ahead of this gotcha

I am against free college, unless its an interest free trade school degree

I also would be ok with the first year of community college being free, with the stipulation you drop out you pay the fees, and if you get above a 3.5 you continue to get further education covered as long as you are continuing to progress

Are you sure about "merit"? We live in an age of equity.  Liberals would never go for merit.

That sure does not seem like someone who is xenophobic or anti-immigrant. Gives educated people a pathway to citizenship and will help with the declining birth rate here. I think it is a great idea.

Yeah. DEI is "made up" by me. And it's not pushed ad nauseum in every big business in the country.

I’ve always suspected that Trump doesn’t particularly care about this issue (or any issue for that matter) that all his anti-immigration stuff is just for show. He says it because he thinks it makes him more popular with the base. And of course he’s right. Unfortunately it doesn’t matter because Trump has surrounded himself with people who really do care about this issue (like Stephen Miller.) One of many reasons why his re-election is unacceptable to me.

I 100 percent believe this. I do not really think he cares about anything other than his legacy. First it was just to be a presidential candidate(till the Dems screwed the pooch and inadvertently got him elected)  and now being the only 2nd president to serve non consecutive terms. I do not think for a second he cares about policy. Like any politician he cares about selling people on ideas. Almost all of which are not actually his but the yes men that surround presidents.
