My questions are, why wasn't that building secured? And why did the SS sniper, who seemingly had the shooter in his sights, not take the shooter out before he got his shot(s) off and why did he come off his scope the instant before he fired?

As a shooter, it makes no sense. If you have your target sighted and you're about to pull the trigger, you don't come off scope like that. As a supposedly highly trained shooter, it's curious to say the least.

BREAKING: Thomas Matthew Crooks ID'd as the suspect who shot at Donald Trump at his PA rally.

Crooks was 20-years-old from Bethel Park, Pennsylvania which was about 40 miles south of the Butler rally.

An AR-15 was reportedly recovered at the scene.

Terrible day. The demonization of the opposition needs to be dialed back, by everyone. That someone attempted to assassinate a presidential candidate and murdered at least one attendee at a political event in this country is sickening. We are all to blame.

Trump has an open path to turning this into an epic success. A near death experience can change a person. If he can lead the way, and exemplify a less divisive approach and dial back some of his own aggressive rhetoric, he could win in a Reagan- Mondale style rout.

Much as I dislike the man, I'm grateful he's okay. That mother fuking fist pump was epic. Inspirational and instantly iconic. It can be a catalyst to a much brighter path than what many fear will happen instead. He's been given an incredible opportunity. He needs to grab it and be a leader for everyone. I honestly hope he does; that's a much better outcome than more violence.
