Given that VP's don't do a whole lot, she should pick a Messican.  Then she can have them mow the White House lawn and save the taxpayers some money.

First stop next week is in Philadelphia.

It is Shapiro. Safe and smart pick.

What a great Presidential Candidate 😁 Racist Kamala with her "Black" accent in Atlanta. 😂

More reports that it is down to Shapiro and Kelly. No real surprise there as they have been the favs for a long time.

Kelly would be the best pick I think for his background. I did listen to a bit of Shapiro talking and he was pretty decent. Still think they’ll take Shapiro as the safe pick.

@Cdub100 will lose his mind :(

Initially, it seemed hard to determine who the biggest brain dead zombie liberal is on this site. Should have known since the beginning though, all liberals are just really equally stupid and in service of their collective liberal masters.

TDS does not discriminate when it comes to the liberals in this country. They are all afflicted to the maximum level of being affected.

It's hard to read what these focking idiots post day in and day out.

Shapiro is pretty good, I think he’d be a great choice. Kelly has a compelling bio but he’s not nearly as good of a speaker

Bad move on the surface, and I would normally say  Michigan most likely is gone, but the democrats cheat game there is strong.

Just to be clear.   My post wasn't speculation.  It IS Shapiro.  It got accidentally leaked by a staffer for the Mayor of Philly.

When they announced they were kicking off the week in Philly last week the writing was on the wall.

Plus Harris has pulled ahead in Arizona, so picking a guy from Pennsylvania, where she most likely has to win, makes sense.

Shapiro is apparently a better speaker than Kelly. But I would have preferred Kelly as he can put more states in play. Still though if you win Pennsylvania you win the election.

One thing that worries me- isn’t there some woman claiming abuse? Hope there’s nothing to that…

Gov. Josh Shapiro, Democrat of Pennsylvania, wrote in his college newspaper three decades ago that Palestinians were “too battle-minded” to achieve a two-state solution in the Middle East, prompting criticism as Vice President Kamala Harris considers him to be her running mate.

Mr. Shapiro, 51, has embraced his Jewish identity and been one of the Democratic Party’s staunchest defenders of Israel at a moment when the party is splintered over the war in Gaza.

But he says his views have evolved since publishing an opinion essay as a college student at the University of Rochester in New York, when he wrote that Palestinians were incapable of establishing their own homeland and making it successful, even with help from Israel and the United States.

“They are too battle-minded to be able to establish a peaceful homeland of their own,” he wrote in the essay, published in the Sept. 23, 1993, edition of The Campus Times, the student newspaper. “They will grow tired of fighting amongst themselves and will turn outside against Israel.”

I don’t think this Israel thing will matter, but it does seem like a bit of a gamble.

OTOH I don’t want them pandering to the idiots. I mean, Israel has gone too far, but that doesn’t make Hamas the good guys

Yeah many leftists are opposed to Shapiro for a variety of reasons; Israel is only one of them. Shapiro is a pro-business centrist, along the lines of Rick Caruso in California (one of my favorite Democrats).

But despite what @EternalShinyAndChrome and others here claim, the leftists don’t run the Democratic Party. In fact they’re less and less powerful. Kamala is certainly not in the Bernie/AOC camp. I don’t think she will pay much attention to them.

Huh?  She was voted THE most "liberal" Senator when she was in office.  Your party is moving further and further left.  Every election.  The far left of your party has hijacked your party.  You have literal Marxists/Socialists elected on your side.  No lie.

I'm sorry you have to hear that, but hear that you must.

She’s very liberal on some social issues. And on a few economic ones. She’s not leftist or Marxist or socialist. What you don’t understand is that there is a HUGE difference between liberalism and leftism. You don’t want to understand this because it’s simpler to think otherwise. But basically in terms of economics:

1. A liberal believes that government should interfere with the free market in order to improve its chances of bringing prosperity and give everyone more equal opportunity to succeed. A liberal believes capitalism is good, just needs to be tinkered with from time to time.

2. A leftist believes that capitalism is bad and cannot be fixed; it must be attacked and ultimately replaced with socialism.

3. Leftists and liberals can unite, especially on social issues like woke and abortion and gay rights, etc., or even on some temporary economic issues. But in the long term their views are irreconcilable.

4. The vast majority of the Democratic Party are liberals not leftists. This includes almost everyone in power. The leftists have gotten louder over the years but not any more powerful. I offer the evidence of Bernie Sanders. For years now he has been pushing a very specific agenda. He hasn’t gotten close to getting any of it agreed to by the Democratic leadership, much less passed by Congress.

JD Vance volunteered to serve in his countries military. So did Josh Shapiro.

So apparently Shapiro mimics Obama when he speaks. Weird.
