Potheads

Recommended Posts

Last time I was in NYC there was times when if I didn’t smell weed I actually noticed. Calm down pot fiends!

Michigan is the state with the highest per capita sales of weed in America at $132.41, according to data provided by Headset – a cannabis market intelligence firm. It was also announced recently that the Great Lake State has even surpassed California as the largest cannabis market in the U.S. in terms of sales volume. In May 2024, Michigan sold 24.2 million units (defined as a single item that a customer buys, such as a pre-rolled joint, a multipack of pre-rolled joints, a jar of flower, or a pack of gummies), while California sold 17.3 million units. However, California still takes the lead in terms of revenue due to its much higher prices of weed.

I live in one of michigans many small towns. It says we have between 3-6k people but it is hard for me to believe that seeing as how sleepy this town is. Nothing ever happens here...... and I like it. I mention all that to illustrate how pervasive pot shops have become. In my tiny town we have 5 pot shops. 2 are quite literally side by side. Before it was legalized you would smell it and think "someone somewhere is getting hiiiiiighhh" now that someone is literally just casually smoking on the street in wide open view. Every pot shop I see is always busy. Hell one here has a DRIVE THROUGH for when you want to get some weed but want it on the go

Sounds like they’re not trying very hard to regulate it. In many of these states there’s a cap on how many shops can be in a certain area and things like that. Drive through shops probably not allowed in most places either for the same reason drive through liquor stores are usually disallowed

As far as I can tell they are not trying at all. Not only that I do not see how these pot shops can even stay in business. When it first became legal they were charging 400-600 an ounce. You can get an ounce of 20 percent thc weed here for around 100 bucks

The state probably enjoys this new found tax revenue pipeline.

Michigan has become my go-to place to get cartridges and concentrates until MN gets their infrastructure put together. I suspect that once that happens, sales in MI will drop some.

delta 8 is so 2021 lol

THC-A is where its at

basically its flower that doesn't test over 0.3 THC but thats 25% ish THC-A.  The farm act only excluded THC, not any other compounds

when you put heat to THC-A it activates into THC

basically shifted the majority of my market into this cause its federally legal and I can ship EVERYWHERE, was just at a huge convention in vegas for it

delta 8 is taking distillate from hemp and allowing it to degrade so that it becomes psychoactive, still gets you high but its a diff feeling

first few times you hit you will get way more high, but then its gone

https://www.insidermonkey.com/blog/20-cities-with-the-highest-weed-consumption-in-the-us-1326337/?singlepage=1

1. New York, 2. LA, 3. Chicago no surprise.

Lincoln, NE coming in at #11, and Boise, ID at #19 surprise me.  KC holding strong at #20.

So the three largest cities in the United States consume the most weed, I am shocked. Here is something even more amazing. The top six cities in consumption of weed are the six largest cities in the country.

Yeah, I was surprised to see Phoenix at #5, but then I realized we are the 5th largest city.  :D

We've a very spread-out city so you don't tend to get that concentrated weed smell you would in more congested spaces.  So I don't think of it happening here as much.  That being said, I go to a pretty serious cross-fit-ish gym, and I know quite a few people there who do it regularly.

The people who made this list haven’t been to Atlanta recently.

Keep up the lack of self accountability along with liberal run cities and relaxed drug and gambling laws, and they're all going to end up like Biff's city in Back to the Future II.
