Checked in, saw the ENT doctor, diagnosed with an ear infection. Antibiotic medication & one other was dispensed at the appointment. 4,240 yen for the whole thing. Orrrrrrrr.... $29.22 usd! All said and done in 1 hour! It's not even worth sending into the old blue cross insurance company... that's less than our per visit deductable. Although the US healthcare system is pretty good, we're doing something wrong. Though... apparently don't have a heart attack or the like here. They can turn you away... something like 6 American civilians from US bases died in the last couple years by being turned away from Japanese ER's.
