If the thought of significant federal government jobs being cut gets more press it will probably lose Trump the election.  Even typically Republican voting federal workers likely won’t vote for him if they think he’ll cause their job to be in danger.

Trump actually leads Harris among government employees, probably because they realize how oversized the federal government is and how much waste there is.   But just the fact there are enough government employees to flip election illustrates there are too many federal employees and the fact they can impact elections to ensure their jobs and guarantee pay increases shows something is wrong.

Charging for a "premium" version of X is not "charging people to use it." 

You don't have to pay to use X as you claimed. You can choose to pay to go ad free or be able to post more werdz in a single post. You can also pay to get a blue . But you don't have to.

I'm in favor of trimming as much fat off of this bloated government as possible. 

It would force them to be more efficient and it would cut down on a tremendous amount of waste. 

The savings we would gain by not overpaying 10's of thousands of useless, redundant, bureaucrats would offset the unemployment costs.

I see parallels between Musk and Henry Ford. Ford was brilliant, one of the most important people in American and world history. He literally changed human civilization and industry to our great benefit. 

But he was also an anti-Semite, a racist, an admirer of fascism, and insane. And despite all of his innovations he didn’t turn out to be such a great businessman. His refusal for a decade to upgrade the Model-T hurt his company badly and ignored the very marketplace that he created: and his obstinacy regarding unions ignored the growing middle class that he was largely responsible for. There are many similarities to Musk here.

The Nummi campus built GM's and Toyotas. My bad.  They upgraded all the machines after Toyota joined.  Then when the plant shut down. Elon took it over.  The first time i toured the facility. I was driving a Saturn.  So that was stuck in my head haha the Great Mall in Milpitas  used to be a Ford Plant too. Now its just a super ghetto mall.

It was a GM plant before it was anything else. They shut it down and relocated everybody to GM plants in other states.

Yeah. Saturn was also a subsidiary of GM and i think they built some there. My first car when i got my Drivers License my Mom gave me was a Saturn.  She said because it was made in Fremont.  It sucked. It was white (i feel like they all were white) and the windows leaked when it rained.

Unless his primary motivation in buying Twitter was something besides purely financial gain - which he has basically stated since the day he bought it.  I think what he is did to Twitter has been a great result, even though he lost money.
