J. Reed Rest of the way

I have someone offering me J. Reed for guys I really don’t “need”, but like (D. Robinson and C. Steele).   I feel like once both Reed and Love are 100% Reed has a shot to be a top 20 fantasy WR. Apparently the guy offering him doesn’t have the same opinion. Am I wrong here?

Yeah, I agree. I see Reed ranked in the “30’s” for this week and even in some “rest of the way” rankings, but I’m guessing they are a factoring in his and Love’s injuries. I don’t care if he’ll be a WR3 this week. I’m thinking rest of the way, which I could see him as a solid wr2.

Nope, not wrong.  Robinson and Steele don't have the ceiling that Reed does.  Unlike you, I don't think Reed has that much of a shot at Top 20 (I'd say WR3/4), but the shot he does have is light years ahead of Robinson and Steele.  Worst case scenario is that the deal ends up a push.  Reed should at least be a flex play all year.  After guys get healthy, both Robinson and Steele are droppable.

he has a chance to be top 12.  not just top 20.

either way, you always make an initial offer thats a bit less than you expect to pay.  that's the art of negotiation.    he says he doesnt value him that high, but then why is he trying to trade for him?   see what I mean?   I would not take that offer if I were in your shoes.    I dont know that id make a counter offer either.  if the offer is (in your opinion) not anywhere close to his true market, there is no point in continuing the negotiation.   just say 'no thanks'  dont berate him or criticize.   just politely say no thanks.    if he really wants him he will come back with a legitimate offer.  if not, its probably best you are not dealing with the guy anyhow.

As a Reed owner there's now way I'd want those 2 guys to replace his potential. Steele may end up vulturing 3-4 TDs this season but I would not be starting him, and value beyond week 5 is highly questionable. He'll be #4 on the depth chart soon enough and will have ZERO value.

DRob is on my bench as a speculative add. With Kupp going down last week I would have expected 7-8 targets but he led the team with 4 for 50 yds on 2 catches. Certainly not encouraging. I'd jump on this one.

Basically Reed for Shaheed because Steele has no value in any format.   I'd still do that deal... especially on the off chance that Steele actually becomes something.

he still needs to develop his game a bit but hes close.   At this point I'd say its safe to say he will be a player.   what we dont know is exactly how high that ceiling actually is.

but in week 1 he was ELECTRIC.    The most exciting guy on the field.   and as he gains experience, and improves his connection with Love, this will only get better.
