Pacheco’s Return?

What are everyone’s thoughts on when Pacheco will likely return?  He was given a 6-8 week timeframe, and we’re at the 6 week mark. The internet is very vague on this. I think Hunt owners (like myself) are more interested in this answer than Pacheco owners..

Ive read a few articles suggesting you should sell Hunt while you can, but personally I just have a hard time believing Pacheco will be on the field anytime through week 14 at least. Last I read he was walking ok, but walking and making game speed cuts are 2 very different things..

Given that they’re undefeated, Chiefs have no reason to rush him back or give him the full workload any time soon. I think there’s a real chance it’s a split backfield when he returns in the regular season and he’s not given the full workload until the actual NFL playoffs

I have also noted they have been vague.   they performed that procedure and its been only rumors since.    he also has ligament damage, then the rumour was no ligament damage.  then hes slow to heal, now they say hes looking good in his recovery.

kinda frustrating.  bit of a gong show.

I think they will ease him back, and probably give him a lighter load and keep him fresh for the postseason

I got a league where I need a QB, somewhat badly. My other RBs are Joe Mixon, Aaron Jones, Nick Chubb, Tyrone Tracy Jr.

I also need a kicker for Week 12 bye.

Is it even worth keeping Pacheco on my roster? I might drop Justin Fields instead.

Assuming this isn’t superflex, and not a keeper/dynasty league, I’d probably search for an owner who has 2 top 10-12 QB’s and offer Pacheco for one of them.

Not sure you’d get much for Pacheco now considering how Hunt is looking.  That’s going to be a mess when both are active.

With how Hunt has looked, his familiarity with the offense/mahomes and the fact KC is undefeated ... I would see no reason why KC would rush Pacheco back or not continue to give Hunt a decent workload once Pacheco returns.  Even in the playoffs, which we don't care about for FF, why would they go away from what is working (meaning Hunt would still probably have a decent role)? 

This would be easier to predict if the Chiefs didn't already have their bye.  For example If they had a week 12 bye, I would say you won't see Pacheco until week 13.  

i still have a hard time believing we see him back before week 12

Pacheco is better than Hunt, at this point in their respective careers.   He'll get his upon his return.

He will get his, certainly… and especially because he brings a toughness to the offense as a whole. But you really think it would go back to being basically a 1 man show? I don’t see any way that happens. I think Hunt will continue to get a healthy amount of touches to keep Pacheco fresh

given the health of their WR I could see them running a lot of 2 WR RB sets where one will split out wide partway through the snap count.   both are capable receivers. I could see it causing mismatches in coverage if they use them both.

Yeah, it's probably not ideal for anyone thinking about fantasy impact.  I'm a fan thinking about how much better the team is with the options we have at RB, if they can all stay healthy.

I don’t see CEH getting more than a few snaps a game with both Hunt and Pacheco as options 1A/B.  But yes, that’s another few snaps.  For now the opinion of the Pacheco owners is that he steps right back in and it’s business as usual.  For Hunt owners the opinion is that he looks too good so far to move away from him…and he has looked good.  But no one really has a clue beyond what they want to see happen…until we actually see it.  Just think back a few months ago and read all those preseason delusional posts about how Kyren had lost his job to Corum…and we all know now how that worked out.  Go back a few years ago when we had all those delusional posts about how Chubb was going to carry all those teams to a championship with Hunt on that roster…he obviously didn’t.  Hope is NOT a strategy folks!

You don't lose your job because of an injury.   Do you know how crappy that looks and how it could get in the head of your teammates?

I do think Pacheco gets right back into his role he had which was working well.   I think Hunt falls back into the 1B role, which he can probably excel at as a change of pace, which is what they wanted CEH to be but never really planned out.   It's a nice problem to have.
