Well it is a step in the right direction.  Now they have to cut the umbilical cord from the government and actually have an independant skeptical view and actually do investigative journalism. 

All News stories today are just deep state sources inside government.  Whatever some source inside government tells them, becomes the headline news.  That is not news, that is propaganda.   

The only time mainstream media does investigative journalism is to attack independant voices speaking out against government. I have seen nothing to suggest the media is interested in really becoming an independant voice that does not endlessly shill for big central government elitist authoritarian solutions.  Newspapers are suppose to be the watchdog for the people against corruption and tyranny.  But instead is the mouthpiece for it.

I think the most important step toward actually improving a situation is to admit the truth.  Here we have one lone voice in a sea of untruth finally speaking out.   This is something we should all welcome.  

I have some doubts that the ideologically captive folks in these media outlets will ever relent on their cultish beliefs.   But if one person can speak out, maybe more eventually will.  And maybe......we can see a return of actual journalism, and with it our protections against the powerful.

Kudos to Bezos in this instance for calling it out.

I think it might be tough to find conservative thinkers willing to work for the wages at some of these media outlets.....not impossible, but challenging

It could cause conflict.   Those on the left have been indoctrinated to never accept alternative ideas, so getting in a room and debating is not something they will do....

NOT MY PARTY. While left leaning, I've never been a registered democrat, specifically because the party itself is rotten and corrupt. GOP is probably worse, but that's a different subject.

I have to call bullsh!t on this.....I have watched the talking heads still suggesting it was racism and misogyny, the self reflection to what you refer is absolutely what is needed.....and I am hopeful it can happen, but it is not happening yet....hell, people are trying to blame Biden......its just a bunch of finger pointing, but I understand that its still too soon after and right now its more about emotion...

Yes, I've also seen finger pointing and blame, but I think those that are honest with themselves know how badly the Dems fuct this up. There will always be the elitist class that will refuse self examination, but fuk them too. They're part of the problem.

Anyone that thinks they can boil this catastrophe down to a couple bullet points of blame are delusional. It's systemic, and needing to spend the next four years dealing with turnip again will probably just make them even more extreme and less reflective. This is going to get worse.
